1 TM Self-Regulating Heating Cable Tubing Bundles 5-5. Application... Freeze Protection or Process Temperature Maintenance Tube Temperature Range: 5 C to 0 C TubeTrace, with cut-to-length self-regulating heating cable, is designed to provide freeze protection or relatively low temperature maintenance for metallic and nonmetallic tubing. The self-regulating heat output of cable varies in response to the surrounding conditions along the entire length of a circuit. Whenever the heat loss of TubeTrace increases (as ambient temperature drops), the heat output of the cable increases. Conversely, when the heat loss decreases (as ambient temperature rises), the cable reacts by reducing its heat output. Self-regulating is a benefit because it eliminates the possibility that the heater cable can generate enough heat to burn itself out. Likewise there is a lower possibility of overheating the tube or product. The T classification in hazardous applications is the lowest possible. Also, installed cost is lower because cut-to-length makes end connections easy with minimal waste. has a smaller dimensional cross section than other self-regulating cables making it perfect for instrument installations. cables are approved for use in ordinary (nonclassified) areas and are certified to the ATEX directive for use in Category and (Zone and ) classified areas. 7 TM Power-Limiting Heating Cable Tubing Bundles Application... Freeze Protection or Process Temperature Maintenance Tube Temperature Range: 5 C to 0 C TubeTrace, with cut-to-length power-limiting heating cable, is designed to provide freeze protection and temperature maintenance for metallic and nonmetallic tubing. also withstands the temperature exposures associated with steam purging or other high temperature exposure. A coiled resistor alloy heating element provides the powerlimiting feature of. This PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) characteristic decreases the cable s power output as the TubeTrace temperature increases. Conversely, when the heat loss increases (ambient temperature lowers), the cable reacts by increasing heat output. Power-limiting is a benefit because it dramatically reduces the possibility of operating the cable beyond it s temperature limits during uncontrolled conditions. Likewise there is a lower possibility of overheating the tube or product. The T classification in hazardous applications is the lowest possible. The composite construction of the heating element and fiber substrate, plus an additional fiber cushion layer, make an exceptionally durable heating cable. Durability has made TubeTrace with the industry standard for high temperature emissions and process analyzer applications. cables are approved for use in ordinary (nonclassified) areas and are certified to the ATEX directive for use in Category and (Zone and ) classified areas.
