18 HANDLING PRECAUTIONS 1. Lens handling Please use the LED with the following ways: 1.1 Do not touch lens with the tweezers or fingers for the assembly. 1.2 Be sure to tweezer the LED on the ceramic. 1.3 By no means do not stress larger than 4N (~400g) of force onto the lens of LED. Correct ( ) Wrong (X) 2. Lens cleaning In case the dust particles on LED lens surface are not acceptable, an appropriate solution can be adopted to clean the lens surface. 2.1 Try a gentle swabbing with a lint-free swab. 2.2 If needed, the lint-free swab with some isopropyl alcohol (IPA) could be utilized to gently remove the dust from the lens surface. 2.3 Do not use other solvents because they might probably react with the LED package and cause invisible defects. 2.4 Do not clean by any ultrasonic equipment because the LED could be damaged. 3. Carrier Tape Handling The following guidelines are recommended when handling the carrier tape which the LEDs are loaded inside. 3.1 Do not twist the carrier tape. 3.2 The inward bending diameter of carrier tape should not less than 6 cm. 3.3 Do not bend the tape outward. 18

19 < 6 cm 4. Storage The goods should not be exposed to an ambient contains corrosive gas like chlorine, sulfide, ammonia, nitrous oxide, etc. The following storage condition is recommended: 4.1 The goods must be in factory packaging and keep the bag sealed before assembly: a. Storage temperature: -20~50 o C. b. Relative humidity: <60% RH. c. Expiration time is within six months under above storage conditions. 4.2 The bag is opened after assembly, the storage temperature and RH remains unchanged but expiration time turns to one week to assemble all of the rest parts. 19
