8 GLASSs ON Hulls Glass AF by Smarter Building Systems provides an eco-friendly and more economical alternative to outdated and toxic ablative hull paints. GLASS-ON Hull-Glass AF is a two- part pre- ceramic oxylane polymer coating that is designed to bond on the molecular level to bare- metal, painted, or gel- coated hulls of marine vessels and other marine structures in order to prohibit the attachment and growth of barnacles and algae. An average 100- foot yacht usually requires 20 or more gallons of ablative or hard- coat bottom paint and primer, but it would only require 2 gallons of Hull-Glass AF resulting in material cost savings up to 40% as well as only adding 27 lbs of weight to the hull instead of 350lbs.
