The Group came into existence in 2002 when the two carbide manufactures CERAMETAL and PLANSEE TIZIT were merged. CERAMETAL was founded in 1931 in Luxemburg, PLANSEE TIZIT was founded in 1921 in Austria. After the merger, CEARTIZIT Group increased the international expansion with the opening of sales offices worldwide. CB CARBIDE CB Carbide was founded in Taiwan by Mr.&Mrs. Liao in 1973 as a trading company. With the aspiration to provide faster delivery and value to its customers in 1978 the first carbide plant was established in Tamshui, Taiwan. To further achieve vertical integration of raw material supply the company ventured into China to establish its first China plant in 1999.

6 06 EDM Blanks NF Series CORROSION FREE GRADE In order to solve the corrosion problem of cemented carbide in WEDM and EDM process, CB CERATIZIT collaborated with branded WEDM machine manufacturers to created the new corrosion resistant carbide grades NF series. The new NF series corrosion resistance grades not only can slow down the cobalt depletion rate by a factor of 80, it can also increase the stability of cemented carbide during the WEDM and EDM process. Thus it can greatly improves the tool life of the punch and die which is most widely used in blanking and lamination industry. The NF corrosion resistance grade has the below advantages: 1.) Suitable in more extreme water medium condition during the WEDM process, thus help to save water filtration cost. 2.) Can help to sustain a more stable environment for machining, thus help to guarantee the tolerance. 3.) Maintain a good surface quality after machining. Avoid serious wear in tool usage cause by deterioration of tool s surface quality correlated to corrosion.
