Join us for a tour of this gem where we visit magic manors, historical sights and picturesque coastal towns, take part in guided tours, hiking and spas and enjoy the Roslagen cuisine. Cultural Adventures in the Coastal Countryside of Stockholm The Wallon ironworks area is a region full of unique historic and industrial sites, built from the 1600s through the 1800s. The owners of the works built fantastic manors and castles from plans drawn by the most respected architects of the time. We will make a visit to two of these beautiful sites, Gimo and Lövstabruk, and sample their excellent cuisine and lodgings. One day is spent by the shore of the Baltic Sea, in the charming little town of Öregrund. A guided tour and some time to stroll in the harbor and the narrow streets will give you the opportunity to get into the atmosphere of this lovely area. The trip includes: Program with guided tours of the coastal town of Öregrund and the cultural heritage sites Gimo, Österbybruk and Lövstabruk. Two overnight stays at the hotel Gimo Herrgård and the inn Leufstabruks Wärdshus. Start: 11 May Departure at 13:00 from central Stockholm and 14:00 from Arlanda Airport Return: 13 May Arrival at approx. 11:00 at Arlanda Airport and 12:00 in central Stockholm Accommodation, meals, guided tours and local transportation are included. Each participant is responsible for their own flights to/from Sweden. Participants: 4-10 pax.

4 13:00 You will be picked up at a central location in central Stockholm 14:00 Pick-up at Arlanda Airport We set off north towards the Walloon ironwork site of Gimo. Here, enclosed by majestic forests, sparkling lakes and endless meadows, you will find the manor Gimo Herrgård. This four star hotel features 87 individually designed rooms and suites, 18th century banquet halls and a spa. 15:00 Check in at Gimo Herrgård. Tea/coffee break with some time to look around and take in the beauty of the hotel. 16:45 A light hike on the Upplandsleden Trail along Lake Gimo together with a nature guide. 18:15 Time to relax. For those who wish, there is the opportunity for a pampering spa before dinner. 20:00 Dinner in the manor restaurant where exquisite meals made from local Roslagen ingredients are served.

5 9:00 The bus picks you up after breakfast and takes you to one of Sweden s best preserved wooden towns Öregrund 9:45 We start off with a guided tour of this former spa-resort with its colorful history 11:00 Lunch at a restaurant overlooking the sea and time to stroll around on your own From the Netherlands? Did you know that the tvseries Kroongetuige (The Crown Witness) was filmed in Öregrund? 12:30 The bus now takes you from Öregrund to Österbybruk, another much appreciated destination with a beautiful, well-preserved 1700 s environment. Here we will do a guided tour of the forge and have a coffee break before continuing on to Lövstabruk.

Thus wrote Crown Prince Gustaf, later King Gustaf III, to his mother in This afternoon you have the chance to do what the Crown Prince Gustaf recommended and visit Lövstabruk! 16:00 Arrival at Lövstabruk, check in and time to take in the atmosphere of Leufstabruks Wärdshus. 18:30 Dinner at Leufstabruks Wärdshus where you enjoy locally produced, organic food. 8:00 After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we start the day with a guided tour of the Lövstabruk industrial heritage site. 9:30 Departure from Lövstabruk. We head to Arlanda Airport from where you can catch your flight to Umeå and Swedish Workshop. For those who prefer, the bus will continue and let you off in central Stockholm.
