3 Notice Inviting EXPRESSION OF INTEREST for supply of, A. Continuous Casting Plant - 2Nos. B. Compact Box Type Annealing Furnace. Sealed Expression of Interest is invited by India Government Mint, Mumbai, from interested capable and reputed manufacturers having proven capability to Design, Manufacture, Supply, Installation, Commissioning, Testing, Stabilization and Handing over of Continuous Casting Plant and Compact Box Type Annealing Furnace. The Intending Supplier will also be expected to provide after-sales support for 10 years for satisfactory performance of the machines. Objective and Scope of Expression of Interest India Government Mint Mumbai is engaged in sovereign function of manufacturing of circulation coins, commemorative coins and medals. The continuous casting plant is required of casting of rectangular size bars of precious metal like gold /silver /QA which shall be further rolled for manufacturing of blanks. The compact box type annealing furnace is required for bright annealing of gold/silver/qa bars before final rolling and annealing of cut blanks. The generic requirements of CCP plant and Compact box type annealing furnace are as below: A. Continuous casting furnace i. Metal to melt : Pure Gold and its alloy, Pure Silver/its alloy QA (Ag 50%, Cu 40%, Ni 5% & Zn 5%) Pure Copper, brass. ii. Quantity : 2Nos. (One for Au/ Ag and another for QA) iii. Profile of bar to cast : Rectangular iv. Size of bar to cast : Width : 25 to 50mm, Length : 300 to 450mm Thickness : 5 to 10mm v. Temperature : 1400ºC (as QA melting requires high temperature) vi. Protective atmosphere : Yes vii. Bar cutting attachment : Shear machine for gold bar cutting Saw machine for thick bar cutting viii. Crucible Capacity : 10 Kg in terms of pure gold 25 Kg in terms of QA. B. Compact box type annealing furnace i. Metal to be annealed : Casted bars or blanks of QA (Ag 50%, Cu 40%, Ni 5% & Zn 5%) OR Pure Copper and its alloy OR Au/Ag ii. Quantity : 1No. iii. Profile of Casted bars : Rectangular (L450 X W90 X H12) mm of QA each weighing around 3 to 3.5 Kg iv. Profile of Blanks : Diameter : 25 to 55 mm

4 Thickness : 1.3 to 2.5mm v. Batch : Kg for Bars /Blanks vi. Annealing Temp. : 1050ºC maximum vii. Protective atmosphere : Yes viii. Specific requirement : a) For annealing of blanks special profile metal cases are to be provided in order to hold the blanks vertically. b) Rack type arrangements for stacking the bars for annealing. ix. Features : Furnace must equip with temperature controller and constant protective gas pressure monitoring system. The objective of the Expression of Interest is to prospect and source the most appropriate stateof-the-art technical solution available for Continuous Casting process and Compact Box Type Annealing Furnace. Based on EOI offers, detailed generic technical specification shall be formulated with quality benchmarks; delivery milestones etc. and regular tender enquiry will be floated. Budgetary offer for the proposed system shall also be provided.

5 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND INFORMATION TO BE SUBMITTED WITH THE EXPRESSION OF INTEREST. Sl. The Participants who secure the minimum weightage of 50% will be short listed.

6 INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS The interested participants may visit our Mints and see and understand the casting, rolling and annealing process for precious as well as QA metal and obtain any additional information as required for the preparation of proposal at their own cost and responsibility. For site visit they may contact, Manager (Technical) / Works Manager, I. G. Mint, Mumbai. All participants are expected to fully get acquainted with the local laws like taxes and duties, statutory regulations, levies and other charges. The Participants are expected to know all conditions and factors, which may have any effect on their proposal. The participating firms, who called for presentation, are expected to make presentations about the technical solutions offered within 15 days. EOI submitted without enclosing required documents specified is liable to be ignored being nonresponsive. India Government Mint, Mumbai reserves the right to accept or reject in part or full of any or all the offers received against the EOI at any stage without assigning any reasons thereof and without incurring any liability to the respondents. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard. The EOIs will be opened on at 3.00 P.M. at India Government Mint, Mumbai, Shahid Bhagat Singh Road Fort Mumbai Proposals received after due date and time will not be considered. EOI shall be prepared and submitted in sealed envelope super-scribed as EOI No. XIX-2/1170/P&S/2014 dated due for opening on at 3.00 P.M. Non-adherence to this may liable for rejection of their EOI.
