4 What is mineral wool? How is it used? The umbrella term mineral wool usually describes fibrous materials such as glass wool and stone wool. Owing to its fibrous structure and the resultant large volumes of air between the fibres, mineral wool has a low thermal transmittance factor and is consequently favoured as an insulating material in the building trade. To manufacture mineral wool, the raw mineral materials, in particular glass and stonewool fibres, as well as additives such as magnesium and cement, are melted in melting tank and then reduced to fibres in a so-called jet centrifuge process. After this, the fibres are treated with a binding agent. Plastics act in this as a binding agent, for example phenol formaldehyde resins. The binding agents guarantee stability of the mineral wool fibres and thus the stability of the insulating material. Mineral wool manufacturing process: When manufacturing insulating materials from mineral wall, significant quantities of waste or faulty production occur. A considerable portion of this waste has been deposited hitherto in specialist waste sites. Recycling of the waste generated in the mineral wool manufacturing process is difficult, as the binding agent contained in mineral wool has a disruptive effect on the manufacturing process. If there is too high a proportion in the raw materials used, the binding agent can endanger the manufacturing process and its quality, which causes quite considerable costs both through production failure and through repeat manufacture. The invention Methods are known with which the proportion of binding agent in the mineral wool waste can be reduced, but these methods are not economically efficient, so that its use is of only limited value. However, the amounts of energy required for this are enormous, so that its use is hardly profitable. The invention presented here addresses this problem. By means of a heating process, almost 100% of the binding agent is removed from the mineral wool, which can then be fed back completely into the production process.

6 THE RECYCLING MILL THE RECYCLING MILL IS Was developed for economical recyling of insulating materials/ceiling panels etc. made from mineral wool (glass wool, stone wool). The machine is available in various versions and can be used for different fields of application. To ensure an ideal result, each machine is custom-built to the special requirements and wishes of the customer. The innovation of the process is the removal of additives from the ground mineral wool; these additives are removed almost completely by our patented combustion system. This is how the process leads to a pure source product (e.g. glass powder) High precision, high throughput. The standard version of the RM-S already grinds material volumes of 1 to 1,5 tonnes per hour. An even higher throughput can be achieved, like with the dual mill (RM-D). The processing capacity is dependent on the grain size, which can be regulated precisley from extremly fine to flaky. The grain size of the recycled product can be from 1 mm (powder/dust) to 8 mm (before delivery). The grain size is influenced by the type of crushing material and the design of the press worm. _versatile Various versions are available _individuell Optimal functionality through special customer solutions _efficient High throughput (standard mill RM-S 1,0 bis 1,5 t/h) with low energy consumption _long-live Low-maintenance construction through robust, lowear low-wear tools and secure segregation from shredding materials _complete solution consists of the RM-S, optionally with preliminary crusher and feed hopper
