Calamo has unique skills and wide experience of stainless steel surfaces, and how to refine them. We are used to work closely with our customers at all stages of a project from developing standards and specifications to producing material. The global Sandvik network means that Calamo is never far away. Quality Calamo maintains a quality system certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 and PED 97/23/EC. All tubes and fittings comply with PED/97/23/EC. Environment/ Health and Saftey Environmental/Health and Saftey awareness is an integral part of our business and is at the forefront of all activities within our operation. We hold approval to ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007. Electropolished surface, 3500 x magnification Standard mill surface, 3500 x magnification Your supplier of high purity products 2 3

3 Pure production tubular products The control of metallurgy and the cleanliness of steel melting are fundamental to the production of high purity products. Tube manufacturing is subject to close controls and follows tight specifications to achieve the correct properties for further surface treatment. To guarantee and meet the most demanding standards, there are many steps in the manufacturing process from steel melt to the final tube surface steps that have to be approved, controlled and documented. Metallurgy Calamo tube supply is fully controlled from steel melt to finished product. Our supply chain ensures and enables uniform properties, inclusion control, weldabillity and cleanliness. Tube manufacturing The surface quality achieved by tube extrusion, pilgering and drawing is extremely important in determining the final surface finish. Electropolishing Over 40 years experience and development of the electropolishing process ensure that we are able to meet the latest and most demanding requirements. The different parameters during the electropolishing and cleaning processes are strictly measured, controlled and recorded. Our unique passivation method guarantees a chromium enriched layer of the highest quality. Clean room treatment The advanced Calamo wet-in-wet process is used to avoid contamination and dry spots between the different cleaning steps. In a class 10/100 clean room, 18M cm water is used for the final rinse of high-end products. Purging with filtered nitrogen from a liquid source is carried out before end sealing and packing in double sleeves. Pure products PQE. 4 Pure applications Gas distribution systems for semiconductor manufacturing, laboratories and central gas stations, pharmaceutical process systems and heat exchangers are the main application areas for our products. Every process that requires clean and smooth surfaces, such as food and beverage, pulp and paper gains advantages from electropolished production machinery. Distribution and logistics Distribution of manufactured product is through the Sandvik worldwide transport system, working with major transport and logistic companies around the world. All Sandvik sales offices have access to a track and trace function, making it possible to obtain regular and updated information about shipments. Special packaging materials to Subcontract electropolishing Calamo undertakes subcontract electropolishing of almost any stainless steel component. Several units, the largest containing 40,000 litres of electrolyte, mean that we have capacity for large items. We have also the know-how to conduct inside electropolishing of large vessels. Pickling prior to electropolishing is provided when needed. Electrolytes Calamo has over 40 years experience in electropolishing, and has developed the electrolyte to meet the high quality standards we have in our production. CA-5 electrolyte is suitable for all-round stainless steel electropolishing. The electrolyte is delivered to the customer, ready to use. This means that the customer avoids the complicated and health hazardous process of mixing the chemicals. With our datasheet the customer will have all the information needed to optimize the electropolishing process. Pickling Calamo offers sub-contract pickling of stainless steel components. Pickling is a chemical treatment applied to stainless steel surfaces to remove contaminants and high temperature scale originating from welding. Pickling is used in applications with high demands on metallurgical cleanliness, sterility and hygiene within the following areas: Biotechnology Pharmaceuticals production Nuclear Process industry Pulp & Paper Automotive Electronics and semiconductor applications High purity laboratory installations Semiconductor manufacturing Distribution of ultra high purity gas for semiconductor manufacturing has the highest demands on surface chemistry, surface microstructure and cleanliness. Some of the process gases are extremely toxic, and need to be handled in CO-AX systems, where the outer tube contains a trace gas in case of leakage. Pulp and paper The surface improvements and deburring effect are used to avoid build up of media particles on screenplates, in head boxes and in pulp distribution systems. Heat exchangers Contamination and corrosion are common problems that are reduced or avoided by electropolishing. This lowers life cycle cost and gives a more reliable and consistent process. Tubes for evaporators in the fertilizer industry is one example. Nuclear industry Due to the reduced total surface area and smooth surface structure, decontamination of Gas distribution systems Clean gas in laboratories and central gas stations are also examples of applications where high purity tubes and fittings are needed. In automotive engine testing, tube system requirements are increasing rapidly. Pharmaceutical applications One of the most common and critical processes in the pharmaceutical industry is the production of Water For Injection (WFI). The production and storage of WFI requires specially designed systems to avoid contamination. Technical experts recommend smooth surfaces in general, and electropolished surfaces in particular, for such systems. meet import regulations are available. Warehouses Calamo has stock material in two locations. Our main warehouse is located at our factory in Molkom, Sweden. In Venlo, Holland we stock some of the more common products and dimensions for the European market. Information is contained in the Safety Data Sheet on handling of the electrolyte, which is corrosive. radioactive equipment and tools is simplified. 6 7
