1 A Long Experience in Energy Equipment and one Goal: The Customer s Satisfaction. CB54 CB55 CB56 Control Ball Valves

2 CB control valves series Control Ball Valves of CB series provide an excellent tightness, typical of on-off ball valves with a high rangeability. CB series valves match together the ability to transfer large volumetric flows with the possibility of a precise control action at small flows. By this way it is possible to reach reangeability of 200:1. Moreover the special trims design of CB series provides noise and cavitation abatement. CB series are proposed in two configurations: 1. CB54 with a particular downstream drilled disc especially designed to reduce noise 2. CB55 with internal trim: - MS trim, standard solution: good flow control, low noise and low cavitation trim - MSC trim, for a more precise control at small flows 3. CB56 - segmented ball V- port with simple streamlined ball bore expecially designed for slurried and high viscosity liquid (pulp applications). CB54 in a gas plant CB54 drilled disc Main advantages of these valves series: - High pressure drop capabilities with no operational limitations. - High flow and high rangeability, in order to achieve smaller valve dimensions and cost reduction. - Quick-change trim. - Low torque design: enables to use diaphragm rotary actuator DRA which are the preferable choice for a control service. - Compact body for CB56: the particular shape of the ball permit compact end to end dimension. 2

3 Technical characteristics Body - side entry flanged and fully-welded design. - size: from 2 to rating: from 150# to 2500#. - face to face dimension EN 1349 (EN 558, ASME/ANSI B16.10, DIN , IEC ) - materials: C.S., S.S., duplex, nickel alloys. Ball - CB 55 series with integral trim DN 4, with quick change trim DN 6. - soft / metal to metal seat. - flow direction: - unidirectional: CB 54 - bidirectional: CB55 - unidirectional: CB56 - materials: same as body - coatings: stellited, tungsten carbide, inox as required. CB55 CB55 MSC trim Stem - anti blow-out design. - materials: 17-4-PH, A479 XM19, Inconel 718, A182 F6. - packing: teflon or graphite ring. Bearings - radial bearings: the generous size of these bearings reduces friction during operation and allows a maintenance-free long life. - axial bearings: thrust due to internal pressure is held from an antifriction washer. 3

4 Seat - spring energized self relieving, Double Piston Effect construction upon request. - soft / metal to metal seat (materials: Stainless Steel coatings: stellite, tungsten or chromium carbide) Packing - adjustable by nuts and follower. - seal rings : reinforced braided teflon or pure graphite split-rings. - see table for temperature and pressure capability. Type of packing reinforced braided teflon seal rings Allowable inlet fluid temperature ( C) plain bonnet extended bonnet Max pressure ( bar) C to C C to C 250 bar pure graphite ribbon seal rings C to C C to C No practical limitation Connections - RF / RJ BW - HUB Actuators - Valvitalia DRA Diaphragm Rotary Actuator, for smaller sizes (up to 12 ). - Valvitalia LPS control pneumatic actuator with low friction scotch-yoke. - Valvitalia electric, hydraulic, electro-hydraulic.
