We are Jäger Dipl.-Ing. Sebastian Jäger Dr.-Ing. Andreas Jäger Dipl.-Kfm. Marius-Quintus Jäger We Grew Up with Rubber Since 1942, when Gummi-Jäger, the parent company of Jäger Gummi und Kunststoff GmbH, was founded, application-oriented advisory service, material-oriented construction and system related development are the key for the Jäger Group s success. Our competence and efficiency continuously raised according to the customers demands. Our success is based on continuous product innovation, advice independent from the material as well as a friendly, competent service and zero-defect philosophy competent service. The family business in its third generation operates world wide and is a qualified partner in the fi eld of environmental and agricultural industry as well as in machine and plant engineering and oil exploration. Over 900 employees working in more than 25 sites in Europe, the USA, Canada and China aim to ensure that. Our Philosophy Thinking across departments and corporate boundaries as well as generating competitive advantages for one s own company, customers and suppliers: Due to these guiding principles the Jaeger Group of Companies is a professional partner in all branches. Confidence in Cooperation Successful customer relationships are based on trust. For us, this means reliability in our promises and actions, fairness in equal partnership and the trustworthiness of the Jäger entrepreneur family. Reliability in Partnership Joint work with the most various suppliers guarantees competitive advantages for our customers. Understanding in Problem Solution By the combination of the most different materials and the integration of various functions in a system component we guarantee our customers a lasting advantage in competition. 2

Fiber composite protectors for boat landings Jäger has developed a technology to prevent corrosion damage to offshore steel structures caused by mechanical impact. This relates in particular to boatlandings of wind turbines when the protectice surface coating deteriorates by fender contact of maintenance vessels. Jäger Mare Solutions protectors are designed to withstand abrasion related wear and harsh climatic conditions. They consist of a matrix with 7 to 10 layers of basalt fiber embedded into vinyl ester resin The thickness depends on the number of layers used. Based on the requirements, the outer surface can be smooth or rough. On the inner side of the protector, an adhesive is applied and attached on the tube of the boatlanding like a Shin guard. before after Refurbished boat landing with Jäger Mare Solutions protectors 3

Benefits of basalt fiber protectors Material Basalt fibers are mineral fibers from the base volcanic rock basalt. They are produced at temperatures C from a basalt melt and have a greenish-brown color. It is a natural material processed without further additives occurring abundantly in nature in the appropriate form for spinning. Application Areas About 30 years ago, a basalt fiber was developed in the Soviet Union. This was primarily used in the aviation and aerospace industries. The currently available high-tech fibers are present no health risk and find their use mainly in composite applications (lightweight car and transport vehicles). With new technologies today, even the finest fibers can be processed into an extremely durable fabric. Advantages of basalt fiber over other materials 15% higher compressive strength, tensile strength and stiffness than E-glass fibers with only 5% higher density Regarding tensile strength, comparable values with carbon (HT) Higher thermal load capacity than E-glass fibers Higher chemical resistance to acids, alkalis and solvents as E-glass fibers Higher resistance to UV-radiation, biological agents and corrosion than E- fiberglass 10 x higher absorbency of electromagnetic radiation as E-fiberglass 100% natural and inert, meaning non-toxic and non-carcinogenic Better recycling properties than fiberglass High availability of the raw material 4

Advantages in the use as a protector Basalt fabric has excellent mechanical characteristics. It is high strength, flexible, non-toxic, and resistant to heat. It is also stable against cold and salt water as well as UV. These special characteristics make basalt an ideal material for protectors and use in seawater. Jäger Mare Solutions Protectors offer the following advantages: Cost-effective Long-term protection against mechanical damage in addition to the corrosion protection. (The paint normally used does not provide mechanical protection) Installation both on- and offshore Individually definable length of protector Possibility of color matching of the protector Environmentally friendly In the processed state, the completely inert product, including the resin, fabric and adhesive, no negative impact on the environment when used. Recycling In the creation and disposal of basalt fiber and its recycling, there is only a very minimal impact on the environment. Basalt fiber products also provide companies a great opportunity to significantly reduce the non-recyclable materials. After the burning of the plastics reinforced with basalt fiber, a fine basalt powder results, which can be easily removed from the incinerator and use as filling material. For the product, Jäger Mare Solutions offers a warranty of five years when mounted onshore and two years when mounted offshore. 5

Basalt fiber roving Basalt fiber builds the bridge between carbon fiber and fiberglass in terms of cost-efficiency and performance. In this way, basalt opens the door to numerous projects where fiberglass cannot be used and carbon fiber is too expensive.... 8 Vinyl ester resin Vinyl ester The chemical resistance of the vinyl ester resin is very high, especially against acidic, alkaline and oxidizing reagents. The resin ensures optimal protection against osmosis- induced bubble formation. Through the excellent adhesion properties, toughness and mechanical characteristics, it is suitable for the production of tanks, reservoirs and for construction parts that handle high short-term shock loads. The resin is easily processed and adheres well to vertically oriented parts. It is ideal for large, vertical applications such as boats and pool walls. 8

2K PU adhesive Jäger Mare SOLUTIONs For the very special fields of application in seawater, a special adhesive for attaching the protector is necessary. Together with an adhesive manufacturer, we have developed an adhesive that works in the offshore sector even under the adverse conditions, meaning over the broadest possible temperature range and without the influence of moisture from the environment. Tensile lap-shear test based on DIN EN 1465 with sections of protectors Result: Breaking tension from static tensile shear test: 5.6 N / mm² at a test speed of 100mm / min In various test series*, the properties of the adhesive were documented: Tensile lap-shear test 10
