3 HISTORY Bernardo Beri and Guido Ceccarelli start Metallurgica Alta Brianza Spa in Suello, the first company in the area to produce cold drawn steel bars. Luigi Baggioli joins the company he has been CEO since TEL LED ITALIANA of Trezzano sul Naviglio, a competitor in the production of free cutting steels, is acquired. SITRA of Milan a competitor in the production of cold drawn flat bars for mechanical uses is acquired MAB inaugurates the headquarters of Garbagnate Monastero. The administrative, commercial and shipping offices are transferred here. A new plant in Lecco is purchased. Between 2001 and 2004 all the company business is transferred here. 11 STOCK Finished products stock up to tons items just in time The policy of Metallurgica Alta Brianza has constantly been focused on customers needs and requirements, and it combines a great flexibility of its machines with a high-grade service. Our new head office and plant are strategically located near the Milan-Lecco and Lecco-Bergamo main roads. In our warehouse the most required qualities of steel bars are constantly stored. This allows Metallurgica Alta Brianza to grant its customers just-in-time deliveries.

24 QUALITY AND CERTIFICATION One of the first companies to be granted a ISO 9001 Certificate, Metallurgica Alta Brianza can rely on a team totally quality-oriented and focused on meeting customers specific requirements, in compliance with the corporate procedures coded in the Quality Manual. To guarantee its products, Metallurgica Alta Brianza carries out accurate controls. Upon request, there is the possibility to test single batches of raw materials in order to analyze the chemical composition. Samples of finished products are constantly tested in the company laboratory. A new generation dynamometer Galdabini equipped with hydraulic clamps and automatic extensometer allows to perform tensile tests on unmachined test pieces for sections up to 36,00 mm and tests on machined test pieces for larger sizes. An high precision Vision Measuring machine allows us to make measurements in thousandths of special profiles where rays, concavities, depths, parallelism and perpendicularity can not be detected with common instruments. If requested, non - destructive tests - Circograph and Defectomat - are conducted to check flaw depth. Metallurgica Alta Brianza guarantees tolerances on dimensions and surface quality of supplies, in accordance with international standard.
