Ryde & Tucker letterplate assemblies cmprise a range f systems with integral intumescent liner material. This apprval applies t the LP02-44, LP02-49, LP02-54, LP02-64, LP03-44, LP03-49, LP03-54, LP03-64, LP05-44, LP05-49, LP05-54, LP05-64, LP06-44, LP06-49, LP06-54, LP06-64, LP08-44, LP08-49, LP08-54 and LP08-64 variants. It relates t their use with the fllwing dr assemblies: Dr assemblies cnsisting f timber faced and edged leaves with timber, cellulsic r mineral cres in timber, metal r cmpsite frames having fire resistances f 30 & 60 minutes, depending n letterplate assembly (Cde TT, ITT, ITM, ITC)* Dr assemblies cnsisting f steel leaves within steel frames having fire resistances f 30 r 60 minutes, depending n letterplate assembly (Cde MM, IMM). * Use in cmpsite-based dr leaves is nt certificated 3. The letterplates are apprved n the basis f: i) Initial type testing ii) An appraisal against TS32 iii) Certificatin f quality management system t ISO 9001: iv) Inspectin and surveillance f factry prductin cntrl v) On-ging audit testing in accrdance with TS32 requirements 4. The dr assembly shall be a CERTIFIRE apprved prduct r have achieved the apprpriate fire resistance perfrmance when tested at a UKAS accredited labratry in accrdance with BS 476: Part 22: The letterplates may nly be fitted in the manner described in this certificate and subject t any limitatins n the inclusin f letterplates specified fr the dr leaf. 6. Letterplates shall nly be fitted using the fixings supplied by the manufacturer. 7. The timber based drsets shall be installed in accrdance with BS Page 2 f 6 Signed

Prduct and/r its immediate packaging is identified with the manufacturer s name, the prduct name r number, the CERTIFIRE name r name and mark, tgether with the CERTIFIRE certificate number and applicatin where apprpriate. 9. 4 10. Drs are classified as the fllwing types: Type MM - 20 minute t 240 minute drsets that cnsist f metallic leaves in metallic frames that d nt cntain intumescent materials in the frame t leaf gap. Type IMM - 20 minute t 240 minute drsets that cnsist f metallic leaves in metallic frames that cntain intumescent materials in the frame t leaf gap. Type ITT - 20 minute t 120 minute drsets cntaining intumescent seals and cnsisting f nn-metallic faced and edged leaves hung in timber frames Type ITM - 20 minute t 120 minute drsets cntaining intumescent seals and cnsisting f nn-metallic faced and edged leaves hung in metal frames. Type ITC - 20 minute t 120 minute drsets cntaining intumescent seals and cnsisting f nn-metallic faced and edged leaves hung in prprietary cmpsite frames, f which the principal material is ther than timber r metal but which may include any ther materials. Scpe f Apprval: The letterplate is a cmplete system using brass, stainless steel (LP02-44, LP02-49, LP02-54, LP02-64, LP03-44, LP03-49, LP03-54, LP03-64, LP08-44, LP08-49, LP08-54 and LP08-64), r aluminium (LP05-44, LP05-49, LP05-54, LP05-64, LP06-44, LP06-49, LP06-54 and LP06-64 nly) plates and a PVC encased intumescent lining with maximum dimensins f 312 mm by 80 mm. The letterplate system shall be fitted at a minimum f 250 mm and maximum f 1700mm frm the base f the dr leaf t the middle f the aperture. The letterplate system may be fitted t cpe with fire risk frm either face. Fr ITM, ITT and ITC drsets, the letterplate is apprved fr use nly with dr leaves cmprising a slid cellulsic cre. The letterplate has been evaluated against BS 476: Part 31.1 fr the cntrl f cld smke and has a leakage rate f 1.5 m 3 /hr/m at 25 Pa. Page 4 f 6 Signed

5 Installatin n Thicker Dr Leaves (Timber dr nly) Standard prduct The standard prduct is designed t fit dr leaves in three thickness ranges, mm, mm and mm. Timber dr leaves with a maximum thickness f 64 mm. This apprval als allws fr the installatin f the letterplates int timber dr leaves with a maximum thickness f 64 mm. The mdels referenced LP02-64, LP03-64, LP05-64, LP06-64 and LP08-64 require specific aperture preparatin n the dr leaf. The sectinal view belw gives a brief illustratin f the dr preparatin required fr 64 mm drs: Fr 64 mm thick drs, the methd f installatin requires asymmetrical preparatin f the dr leaf and requires that the standard aperture 270 mm lng by 60 mm high is ruter frm the inside face f the dr leaf t a depth f nminally 52 mm and a reduced aperture f 253 mm lng by 44 mm wide is cut thrugh the remainder f the dr leaf thickness (nminally 12 mm) frm the utside face.
