4 STEEL Expressive. Imaginative. Creative. THE MATERIAL TRANSFORMATION PROCESS ADVANTAGES Steel is an iron alloy which uses are countless. Simple, tough, and perfect for a variety of uses, Steel boasts great tradition and plays an irreplaceable role in the building industry. It has greater structural qualities than most other materials which allows architects and designers the ability to create openings that are larger with more glass. Utilizing steel for window and door frames allows for the thinnest and narrowest profi les available. Large rolls or coils of steel are fi rst treated with a hot dipped galvanizing process utilizing the Sendzimir system, this coating of zinc on both sides ensures ultimate protection against corrosive agents. The resulting product is then sent thorough a series of rollers to produce specifi c shapes used for our section profi les while maintaining the galvanized coating. Thermally broken. High structural characteristics for large unobstructed openings. 3 times stronger than aluminum. 4 times less conductive than aluminum. Made from 100% recycled materials. Reduced coeffi cient of expansion. Narrow sightlines. Modern and traditional designs. FINISH After the transformation from rolls of steel to frame sections, and fi nally completed units, we utilize any of the RAL colors as a standard selection. Our powder coating process offers a high quality durable fi nish. 4

5 COR-TEN Rustic. Refi ned. Elegant. THE MATERIAL TRANSFORMATION PROCESS ADVANTAGES CorTen steel is a high tensile strength, corrosion resistant steel alloy which contains copper, chromium and phosphorous. The name (Cor-Ten) refl ects the special properties of this alloy: corrosion resistance (Cor) and high tensile strength (Ten). These properties make CorTen steel particularly suitable for use in any environment. The large rolls of CorTen steel are cut to the required width and rolled to the specifi c profi le section. Upon exposure to air, the patina process begins which creates a protective layer of rust over the surface. Left untreated, the rust will create an ever changing appearance. A surface wax treatment can be applied which will stop the continued rusting and will provide a protective barrier against the elements. Thermally broken. Only manufacturer to offer a window and door system utilizing CorTen. 100% recycled material. Durable and resistant to environmental elements. Perfect choice for highly corrosive environments. Unique fi nish not replicated by any other material. FINISH CorTen steel has a unique distinctive appearance. The intense richness of its fi nish bestows a warm, natural, yet at the same time extremely elegant look. Its attractive appearance is a result of an oxidation process which forms a protective patina that remains unchanged over the years. A hand applied wax treatment can be administered to achieve a smooth look. 5

6 STAINLESS STEEL Clean. Solid. Precise. THE MATERIAL TRANSFORMATION PROCESS ADVANTAGES Stainless steel is an iron alloy containing chromium, nickel, and molybdenum. It was discovered in 1913 by Englishman Harry Brearly after realizing he created a metal which resisted rusting when exposed to atmospheric elements. By varying the quantity of the alloys, over 100 different types of stainless can be manufactured, each containing different structural properties and resistance to corrosions. In addition to its physical benefi ts, different manufacturing methods can be used to create either a high luster or matt fi nish, which create a variety of design options. The billet used for stainless steel is produced by forging the steel to the required gauge, then rolling it into large coils. The material then undergoes a fi nishing process to obtain a satin, scotch-brite or polished surface. The coil is then rolled into the desired shape while a protective fi lm is applied to protect the fi nish. FINISHES Thermally broken. Available in both 304 high grade stainless or 316 marine grade. Excellent corrosion resistance is ideal for ocean front or industrial applications. Structural stability, extreme durability. 100% recycled material. 1. Satin 220 grit abrasives are rubbed over the surface to obtain a smooth satin polish. 2. Scotch-Brite 1,200 grit abrasive are rubbed over the surface to obtain a sleek smooth fi nish. 3. Polished High powered buffers are used to create a mirror like fi nish. 6

7 BRONZE Warm. Inviting. Alluring. THE MATERIAL TRANSFORMATION PROCESS ADVANTAGES Utilizing the highest quality bronze in the fenestration industry, our products are made from 67% copper and 33% Zinc. This ratio is what allows the alloy to acquire a beautiful patina typical of old bronze. Bronze is one of the fi rst material used to forge tools and weapons, during the renaissance period bronze was used to make doors in some of the most famous buildings like St Peters Basilica, the Pantheon, and Baptistery of St Johns. Bronze lends itself perfectly to projects from historic renovations to modern architectural designs. After the coil stock is cut and rolled into the frame sections it undergoes a heat treatment. This prevents the sections from potential cracking as it relieves the stress applied during the rolling process. The resulting product is the highest quality bronze available in the fenestration industry. FINISHES Thermally broken. High quality materials resulting in the most natural looking patina. Easily replicates historical bronze for a perfect restoration. Great resistance to the elements (air, wind & water). 100% recycled material. Ideal for areas where landmark approval is required. Available with matching bronze hardware. 1. Standard Burnished An acid treatment is applied to create different levels of patina. 3. Specialty Finishes Five customs fi nishes are available which include. MODERNO BRONZO GRIGIO 2. Polished High powered buffers are used to create a mirror like shine reminiscent of traditional bronze.
