5 Our company was founded in 1956 when we started an own production of metal working oils Caused by the very extensive growth during the first years, we built up a modern blending plant. This put us into the position to align our plant with the extended production and in accordance with the newest standards of lubricants and operational fluids. In our chemical department, we also develop and produce additives and intermediates which are exclusively used in our production. Research and development is carried out continuously in our own laboratories. We offer more than special products. Make use of our technical experience.

14 Fused quartz is a glass type which compared to the usual glass types does not contain any additions of soda or calcium oxide, i.e. which consists of pure silicon dioxide (SiO 2 ). It can be obtained by melting and solidifying of quartz (quartz sand or synthetically made), therefore the English name fused quartz or fused silica. 19 Using grinding coolants brings the following advantages 1. Reduction of the water surface tension: Thus, the coolant gets better between tool and material. Effect The grinding wheel is well rinsed, wheel loading does not occur. Therefore, burns and off-center facets are reduced. 2. Better heat dissipation: Diamond grains are better cooled. Effect Grinding wheel is prevented from damage longer tool life. -

20 3. Better handling of glass particles Effect: Glass particles deposit faster, the grinding solution is cleaner 4. Better anti-redeposition power Effect: Transport of glass particles to the settling tank is faster.

Increased lubricating effect For the grinding wheel, this means: - the grip of the diamond grain into the glass structure is smoother, thus heat generated during the grinding process is reduced and service life of the grinding wheel is extended - less contact pressure of the grinding wheel For the machine, this means: - higher forward feed - - better corrosion protection - - less energy consumption, less energy demand - For the glass, this means: - no disruptions of the glass - - Less surface-roughness of grinding, i.e. acid polishing is easier -
