NAC Kazatomprom JSC was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on July 14, NAC Kazatomprom JSC is the national operator in the Republic of Kazakhstan on export-import of uranium and its compounds, rare metals, nuclear fuel for NNPs, special equipment, technologies, and dual-purpose materials. The Company is in the list of strategically important companies of the country. 100 % stake in the Company is owned by the state in the person of JSC National Welfare Fund «Samruk-Kazyna». 2

Main areas of KAP s activity : Uranium geological exploration Natural uranium mining Uranium products Research and development Beryllium products Tantalum, niobium products Generation of electric and heat energy Production of distillate, industrial and drinking water 3

Strategic areas of Kazatomprom`s development 1. Retaining a leading position at the world uranium market 2. Creation on the base of Kazatomprom of the transnational company diversified in front end of fuel cycle, including participation in foreign nuclear fuel cycle assets (with participation in uranium mining chain links, conversion, uranium enrichment, nuclear fuel fabrication, nuclear power station construction) 3. Activity diversification of Kazatomprom in the adjacent hi-tech directions with development of scientific and technical potential 4

Uranium production in Kazakhstan by Kazatomprom and JVs At uranium production of thous. tons a year, reserves and resources in Kazakhstan will be enough for years Share of Kazatomprom in uranium production is more than 50 % Total production in Kazakhstan - Share of Kazatomprom in Kazakhstan s production 5

Foreign partners of Kazatomprom on uranium production in Kazakhstan There are 10 joint ventures on uranium production in Kazakhstan: - Kazakhstan-Japan-Russia (Canadian) Kyzylkum LLC; - Kazakhstan-Russian (Canadian) JV Betpak Dala LLC; - Kazakhstan -Canadian JV Inkai LLC; - Kazakhstan -Russia-Kyrgyzstan JV Zarechnoye JSC; - Kazakhstan -Russian Karatau LLC; - Kazakhstan -Russian JV Akbastau JSC; - Kazakhstan -France JV KATCO LLC; - Kazakhstan China Semizbai-U LLP; - Kazakhstan -Japan APPAK LLP; - Kazakhstan -Japan Baiken-U LLP. 6

PARTICIPATION IN ENRICHMENT PRODUCTION OF URANIUM OXIDE POWDERS PARTICIPATION IN CONVERSION U PRODUCTION PRODUCTION OF FUEL PELLETS TODAY PARTICIPATION IN REACTOR CONSTRUCTION Program of development of nuclear industry in Kazakhstan FABRICATION OF FUEL ASSEMBLIES RESEARCH REACTORS 7

Building up of transnational Company diversified into front-end NFC Participation in the market of conversion services in cooperation with the production facilities of the countries leaders in the technology of conversion of natural uranium into UF 6. Ulba-Conversion JV was established with Cameco company Participation in the market of uranium isotopes separation services at the operating enterprise on uranium enrichment. JV Uranium Enrichment Center was established with Rosatom Participation in the market of fuel assemblies fabrication. JV on FA marketing was established with AREVA, and JV on FA production is being established. 8

Diversification of Kazatomprom into the allied high technology areas Participation in the market of RM and REM: - enterprises for ancillary mining of Re and REM - (neodymium, dysprosium) иfrom uranium ISL solutions and products on the basis of REM Participation in the market of fabrication of devices for getting energy from the renewable energy sources: - production of wind-energy stations was established; - productions of high-purity quartz for electronic industry and solar panels (PV modules) were established; - Production of heat pump sets was established 9

Perspectives for German investments

New items of application of geotechnologies and other developments of nuclear industry may be: oxidized copper and lead-zinc ores; oxidized nickel ores; underground and pit waters, containing copper, chrome, etc.; titanium-zirconium ores and concentrates; refractory gold ores; borates and potassium salts; phosphorites and apatites; solid wastes from large enterprises, including ash-disposal areas of TPP and dumps of coal strip mines, oil-and-gas sulphur.

Kazatomprom s Rare metal program REM Mo/W Deposits Phosphorites and apatites Uranium ISL deposits Ni/Co deposits Monazite concentrate Technogenic formations Ti/Zr deposits V deposits (black shales)

Integrated treatment of brines from MAEC- Kazatomprom s distillation chemical plants Developed a new process flow diagram for efficient concentration of brines of MAEC-Kazatomprom s desalination plants and extraction salts from them in a form of the end product, including : 1.Separation of sodium sulfate out of brine; 2. Separation of sodium chloride out of brine; 3. Separation of magnesium out of brine. Flow diagram is developed for this plant. Cost-effectiveness of the brine concentration scheme was pre-estimated. The concept of commercial brine processing plant with capacity of t/year by dry salt was developed

Perspectives for investments Exploration and drilling Chemistry Science and engineering Services Infrastructure IT and telecommunication Water Energy
