1 Page 1 Alloy Designation EN DIN CEN/TS CW16C Hig Performance STOL Alloys UNS Cemical Composition Weigt percentage C184 C1815 Cu Rest % Cr % Zr % Oter.2 % Tis alloy is in accordance wit RoHS 22/96/CE for electric & electronic equipments and 22/53/CE for automotive industry. We ave developed a wide range of ig performance copper alloys wit excellent properties regarding conductivity, strengt, corrosion beaviour, bendability and relaxation properties. STOL alloys are te first coice materials for ig-end applications and products. Caracteristics is a alloy tat can be ardened by cold forming and by precipitation of - pases during a eat treatment. It as good bendability, excellent ot and cold forming properties, a ig strengt and a good corrosion resistance. Due to te CrZr-precipitations te relaxation properties, even at temperatures up to 25 C are excellent. Te electrical and termal conductivity is excellent. Welding, soldering and brazing properties are good too. Te alloy is registered in te US by EPA to ave good antimicrobial properties. Bending Radius R/T bending edge transvers to rolling direction bending edge in rolling direction 9 Bending Bending test according to EN ISO 7438 is done wit 1 wide samples. Smaller samples in general as well as lower tickness allow a lower bending radius witout cracks. If needed we supply bending optimized temper classes tat far exceed standard quality. Please take care wen comparing wit ASTM E 29 results, tere te bend definition direction is contradictory. Bending Definition R48 R54 Transverse = good way Parallel = bad way rel. 4 Sanitary and Antimicrobial Properties Marc Solioz. University of Bern Copper as been recognised as a ygienic material since te dawn of civilisation and, in te last two centuries, te anecdotal evidence as been supported by scientific researc sowing tat copper is antimicrobial, i.e. it inibits te growt of armful patogens - bacteria, moulds, algae, fungi and viruses. Due to its ig copper content of about 98% provides te full antimicrobial properties of copper to inibit te growt of bacteria, viruses and fungi wic are in contact for a sort period of time on copper containing surfaces. Copper surfaces ave sanitizing properties and self-sanitizing activity tat make it attractive for ygienic and sanitary use e.g. in ospitals, nursing omes and oter ealtcare facilities or public buildings. Te effect as been verified in recent scientific studies on a range of disease-causing organisms including MRSA, Clostridium difficile, E.coli, Listeria monocytogenes, Influenza A (H1N1) and Aspergillus niger. Te diagram sows typical values Time [s] Bend Fatigue (at room temperature) Te fatigue strengt gives an indication about te resistance to variations in applied tension. It is measured under syetrical alternating load. Te maximum bending load for 1 7 load cycles witout crack is measured. Dependent on te temper class it is approximately 1/3 of te tensile strengt R m. Tis metod is taking sort time relaxation into account. so tat te values acieved are very realistic, wile oter test metods like tube test pretend better properties from te acieved values. Relaxation values give an indication about stress relieve of strip under tension for a certain time and temperature. As it is measured on plain strip. te beaviour of deformed parts may differ. neverteless te ratio between te different tempers remains te same. Typical test sample tickness is.3.6. Page 5
