4 4 More than 500 years of experience in steel In 1466, BGH (Boschgotthardshütte) is first mentioned as Hammer an der Ferndorf (location just outside the city of Siegen, Germany). For hundreds of years, forging was the main task of the company. Forge driven by hydropower By combining several steel producing and steel processing companies the current BGH was created. BGH combines long experience in metallurgy, hot and cold forming, heat treatment and finishing of steel with modern equipment and innovative technology. Forging on the 40 MN forging press
