1 SavesPast HTCP Multi-Purpose Reclamation Putty for high temperature resistance till 230 C TECHNICAL DATA SHEET Description: A two component paste general purpose ceramic-filled epoxy system based on high temperature resistance special resin.the ceramic putty is used to repair high wear areas against sliding abrasion /erosion of processing equipment s, interfacing metallic, low-friction surfaces and extends wear life for high temperature service conditions. Ideally used for scrubbers, cyclones, dust collectors, and fan housings. The high temperature putty requires post-curing for proper performance and temperature resistance Product Features: Fast, cost effective and durable Good resistance to abrasion, friction reduction and hence ideal for turn-around time. The product may be applied to any unlimited thickness onto horizontal or vertical surfaces Efficient alternate method of repair where welding or brazing would be undesirable or impossible Can Repair Intricate shape or forms/thin sections, difficult to weld metals No equipment/power supply needed Unlimited cycle of repairs Less Labor costs - Avoid assembly/disassembly, Pre Machining/Post Machining Resistant to chemicals and most acids, bases, solvents, and alkalis. Superior adhesion forms a solid bond to steel, cast iron, Stainless steel, concrete, and clean and abraded bronze, copper, and aluminum. Eliminates costly wear part inventory No shrinkage, expansion or distortion Excellent electrical insulation characteristics Can do repairs at In-situ repair, In-Plant, Workshops, Remote areas No VOC s Routine Maintenance and Unexpected Maintenance Repair cost at fraction of replacement cost. Typical Applications: Fixing wear resistant molds Cyclone and separator bodies Dust collectors and exhausters Fan blades and housings Intake manifolds

Please refer SURFACE PREPARATION STANDARDS for more details. Surface Preparation Thoroughly clean the surface with SavesPast ACR, Cleaner to remove all oil, grease and dirt. Grit blast surface area with 8-40 mesh grit, although roughening using mechanical alternatives such as wire brush or abrasive disc can be used to leave a clean surface, free of scale, rust and other foreign substances., to create increased surface area for better adhesion to achieve desired profile is microns. Note for saline surface exposed metal surface: For metals exposed to sea water or other salt solution, grit-blast and high-pressure-water-blast the area, then leave Overnight to allow any salts in the metal to sweat to the surface. Repeat blasting to sweat out all soluble salts. Perform Chloride contamination test to determine soluble salt content (should be no more than 40pm). Clean surface again with SavesPast ACR, Cleaner to remove all traces of oil, grease, dust or other foreign substances from the grit blasting. Repair surface as soon as possible to eliminate any changes or surface contaminants/flash rusting/oxidation. Technical tips for working with epoxies Working time and cure time depends on temperature and mass: The higher the temperature, the faster the cure. The larger the mass of material mixed, the faster the cure due to exothermal reaction. To speed the cure of epoxies at low temperatures: Store epoxy at room temperature. Pre-heat repair surface until warm to the touch. To slow the cure of epoxies at high temperatures: Mix epoxy in small masses to prevent rapid curing. Cool resin/hardener components.

3 Application Instructions Mixing Instructions It is strongly recommended that full units be mixed, as ratios are pre-measured. Add hardener to resin. Mix thoroughly with screwdriver or similar tool while continuously scrape material away from sides and bottom of container until a uniform, streak-free consistency is obtained. For smaller volumes Place resin and hardener on a flat, disposable surface such as MonKit or plastic sheet. Use a Spatula or trowel/ wide-blade tool to mix the material. For larger volumes Use a T-shaped mixing paddle or a propeller-type Jiffy Mixer Model ES on an electric drill. Thoroughly fold putty by vigorously moving paddle/propeller up and down until a homogenous mix of resin and hardener is attained. Thoroughly mix the components for at least 4 minutes to get uniform mixture. Avoid the formation of bubbles. Do not mix more than you are able to use within the pot life. If the container is partly used, it is to be kept tightly closed. Spread mixed material on repair area and work firmly into substrate to ensure maximum surface contact.apply a very thin scratch or smear coat directly to the prepared surface to maximize surface contact before proceeding to apply additional product to the desired build. Ensure product has been worked into all cracks and voids to eliminate air bubbles. If applying several coats or layers, any previously applied product must be roughened if it has been left to cure for more than 24hours. Do not "feather-edge epoxy. FOR BRIDGING LARGE GAPS OR HOLES Place fiberglass sheet, expanded metal, or mechanical fasteners between repair area and SavesPast TP prior to application. FOR VERTICAL SURFACE APPLICATIONS SavesPast TP can be troweled up to ½ thick without sagging. Chemical immersion is possible after 24 hours. FOR MAXIMUM IMPROVEMENT OF PHYSICAL & CHEMICAL PROPERTIES Cure at room temperature for 2.5 hours, then heat cure/elevated temperature for 4 90 C. If a smooth surface is desired, there are two possible ways to accomplish it. Smoothening For small or curved areas, apply a small amount of isopropanol alcohol or acetone to the top of the epoxy compound and smooth using either a gloved hand or trowel, as the solvent prevents sticking. The usage of water may produce a white film on the finished surface and do not mix the solvent into the epoxy. For large or flat areas, a sheet of non-stick Polyethylene or Polypropylene can be applied to the surface. Once the material has been cured, it can be pulled off, leaving a smooth surface. Note: Reduction of the coating thickness is much easier when the coating is applied than after the very hard and abrasive resistant coating is cured

4 Post Curing/Temper Hardening Post Curing HIGH TEMPERATURES PUTTY under ambient temperature conditions will take some time to cure to its ultimate properties. Post curing in an oven or by using heat lamps, to a maximum temperature of 150 C for 2 hours, will result in rapid achievement of full cure properties. In-situ cure at the normal process operating temperatures will provide cured properties and an ultimate cure rate consistent with the process temperature. Variations in cure may arise due to the amount of material being applied, the thickness of material being applied, the surface temperature, and the product temperature. The cure may be increased by applying external heat to the prepared surface before application of the product. This can be done with heat lamps, hot air gun, ELECTRIC BLANKET or other heat sources. Do not use open flame. The cure may be decreased by cooling the product before mixing. Curing TEMPERATURE Movement or use involving no loading or immersion CURE TIMES 5 C (41 F) 10 C (50 F) 15 C (59 F) 20 C (68 F) 25 C(77 F) 30 C (86 F) 4 hrs. 3 hrs. 2 1/4 hrs 1 3/4 hrs. 1 hr. 3/4 hr. A minimum of 3 years should be expected if held in original unopened containers
