3 Advantages of heat resistant felt Comparison of heat resistant felt to graphite Graphite is a hard and rough material with nearly no ability to absorb impact; bumps, bounces and scratches may mark the shape and surface of the profile. Shadow Spots (Hot Spots) Metallurgical inconsistencies can result from heat concentrations on the graphite bars. No reheating of profiles The aluminum may become polluted with graphite particles (graphite inclusions or graphite streaks). High costs because of additional finishing efforts and profiles to be scrapped High temperature heat felts have the advantage of insulation, temperature balancing, smooth surface and high impact absorbance Heat resistant fibers have no affinity to aluminum Customers getting more and more pretentious and demand high quality aluminum profiles.
