5 FIREFLY millboards are widely used as back-up insulation, as heat shields and as splash guards, not only in the steel industry, but in many industries involving the transfer of molten metals. FIREFLY 700 has a very high operating temperature of 1000 o C. This means it is ideally suited to the high temperatures experienced when transferring molten steel, excelling as splash guards or temporary lids. FIREFLY Flexible FF1000 is used as a ladle back-up insulator, absorbing heat that is transferred between the refractory fire bricks and the ladle body. This helps to increase the temperature in the ladle, and thus save energy, money, and time. TENMAT sliding gate gaskets give further control over steel flow into the tundish. Our bespoke gaskets are easy to install and remove. They are highly resistant to steel penetration, and safe to handle. They help to reduce energy costs by closing any gaps in the tundish preheat lids. TENMAT products are bespoke, giving easy installation and removal. Our products replace hazardous refractory ceramic fibre products, ensuring a safe working environment. T E N M A T sliding gate gaskets give further control over steel flow, both into and out of the tundish. It is essential that a stopper arm s functionality is unaffected by the radiation from preheating and from molten steel during casting. When a stopper arm warps, or creeps, a cast line can be lost for an entire cycle. TENMAT gaskets for sliding gates and SEN valves protect against steel downgrading by eliminating air ingression into vital processes. They are highly resistant to steel penetration, and safe to handle. FIREFLY heat-shields are placed under the stopper arm to insulate against thermal radiation. They prevent the detrimental warping and bending which is seen when an arm is overheated. FIREFLY has proved to be the strongest and stiffest heat-shield available. They outperform other solutions under the high temperatures of both pre-heating and casting cycles. During tundish preheat, cold air ingression should always be avoided. TENMAT gasket solutions for SEN valves create a superior seal, ensuring better preheating quality and efficiencies. TENMAT also manufactures a wide range of vacuum-formed shapes for applications including starter tubes and argon inlet pipe insulation tubes.

8 T E N M A T specially developed FEROFORM rollers as a superior replacement for both steel and polyurethane rollers. FEROFORM rollers ensure improved metal quality as they are non-marking. On-site, materials costs are reduced as FEROFORM lasts longer than rubber/ PU. Operating costs are also reduced, as FEROFORM rollers avoid costly downtime by minimising grinding and cleaning of rollers. The specialist FEROFORM formulation is a strong composite of finely-woven high-performance fibres, building an extremely tough, smooth, and resilient roller. FEROFORM F57 operates wtih strip temperatures up to 500 C; FEROFORM T14 up to 120 C. The specialist fibres of FEROFORM rollers gives them several benefits over other materials. Especially in pipe manufacture, interwoven FEROFORM rollers give added strength against mechnical damage from rotating tubes. The fibres absorb impact shocks meaning steel components can be replaced with much reduced noise level. 9 FIREFLY FF1125 cladding for steel rollers is made of a unique blend of high performance refractory fibres, designed to meet the extremely high temperature demands of the stainless steel annealing processes. FF1125 offers the gentle roll surface required in stainless steel annealing lines to ensure high-spec surface finish during the production of continuous strips. TENMAT in collaboration with major steel works around the world has engineered a solution to cover rollers. FF1125 is able to withstand the high temperatures of this arduous application and improve the overall quality of the steel. TENMAT rollers are dimensionally stable, tough, resilient, and provide long life, reducing the need for frequent and costly replacements. 10 FIREFLY FF700 casting ladle lid The diverse range of TENMAT materials is successfully used in many different applications within the foundry industry. FIREFLY FFF1000 back-up insulation Casting Ladles FF700 maintains high strength even at elevated temperatures. Ideal for use as ladle lids to save energy and improve yields. FFF1000 takes up all contours of ladles, offering flexible back-up thermal insulation. FF700 sliding gate gaskets give extra control over steel flow out of ladles. They are highly resistant to steel penetration and 100% safe to handle. Our bespoke products are easy to install and remove. Rollover Furnaces FF900 is used as gaskets at the joint between the furnace and casting mould in rollover furnaces. FF900 ensures minimal refractory inclusion into the mould. Our gaskets reduce steel losses during casting whilst also enabling faster furnace preparation. This results in noticeable cost savings. 11 The high temperatures along with non-magnetic properties required in induction furnace and heater applications put high requirements on materials used. TENMAT supplies high strength insulation materials for use in induction furnaces, billet heaters and brazing equipment. In induction applications, it is mainly used as high strength end plates on billet heater boxes and support plates in pan brazing operations where it presents a tougher option over other high temperature materials. SINDANYO, the leading high temperature cement board, has long been used in the induction heating industry and can for example be used for enclosures on billet heaters. Firefly CS1255 is a rigid material with excellent insulation properties making it the first choice for induction coil inner tubes. Depending on dimensional requirements and type of use, Refraver is also used in this application. Firefly RF1000FL and FFF1000 are flexible and compressible insulation materials used as additional insulation in and around induction furnaces, brazers and billet heaters.
