Analyzing the impact of dramatic changes to time, pressure, and heat, Kronospan engineers discovered that the key to perfecting the mirrored surface lays in an extended press time (more than 4x normal) with a gradual, liquid cooling of the surface (over 15 minutes in the press) prior to extraction. The new structure, called MG, required construction of an entirely new multi-daylight press, a tailored resin formula and a new process for impregnation representing one of the most extensive investments in a new product by Kronospan in more than a decade.
