3 Test Report Report No.: 171 Date: Contact: GB Remark(s): Recommendation: Sample mesh : 1 g sample is sieved for 5 min on sieves acc. to mesh scale R /3 (range 125 to 0 µm) using the Vibratory Sieve Shaker AS 0 control. Sample mesh 2: g sample is sieved for 5-15 min on sieves acc. to mesh scale R /3 (range to µm) using the Vibratory Sieve Shaker AS 0 control. Steatite balls are used as sieving aids. However the sieving cannot be completed within 15 min. This shows the limitations of dry sieving below 63 µm. Therefore g representative part samples have been sieved on each sieve acc. to mesh scale R /3 (range to µm) using the Air Jet Sieving Machine AS 0 jet. As expected the forced transport (air jet) allows a better sieving on small aperture sizes resulting in a completed sieving. The Vibratory Sieve Shaker AS 0 control and the Air Jet Sieving Machine AS 0 jet are suitable to analyse the sample material under the above mentioned conditions.
