This applies in particular to the production of parts with smaller series. SUSTAVACU 6 GF distinguishes itself by its high dimensional stability under heat, and at the same time shows excellent thermoforming properties. This glassfibre reinforced and shock resistant product withstands even extreme mechanical loads. Automotive industry SUSTAVACU 6 GF offers resistance against grease, oils and fuels, and is especially suited for functional parts and trims in the engine compartment (sound insulation, air ducting parts) for under-floor parts, fenders, side linings etc. Protective cover made of SUSTAVACU 6 GF The protective cover completes the accessory for the BMW HP 2. The thermo-formed add-on component protects the frame from damages caused by stone chipping. 5 Shipbuilding Cover for ship engines The properties of SUSTAVACU 6 GF also convince ship engine producers. Very dimensional stability and high continuous service temperature in comparison to polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), characterise SUSTAVACU 6 GF in this application.

6 Processing of SUSTAVACU 6 GF printability So far, it had not been possible to produce technically perfect parts from common linear polyamide 6 (PA6) material by thermoforming. Usual polyamide 6 remains stiff and dimensionally stable during heating up until reaching the point of crystallisation. Any further heating beyond the crystalline melting point causes a sudden drop in the melting viscosity of the material since the softening range of the material is very narrow. This would result in faulty parts. Regarding SUSTAVACU 6 GF, the temperature-frame of the softening range is considerably wider. It is similar to the thermoforming behaviour of other materials. The material must therefore be pre-dried. During the deforming process, special attention must be paid to the extrusion direction, since the semi-finished products show a different shrinkage behaviour, in longitudinal direction and transverse direction. *This applies to newly produced sheets.
