2 CORPORATE PROFILE Incorporated in 1963 with Technical Collaboration with M/s. Great Lakes Carbon Corporation, USA. GIL Today is one among five largest manufacturers and suppliers of Graphite Electrodes, Speciality Graphite & Carbon products in the World having h Sales Turnover of more than US $400 Million. GIL is divided as Electrode Division, Speciality Division, Impregnated Graphite Equipments Division, Glass Reinforced Plastics Division and Power & Raw Materials Division. Installed Electrode capacities around MT in India (Durgapur, r, Bangalore & Nasik) and MT in Germany. Exports 65% of total production to more than 150 customers spread d across 50 countries in 5 continents.
3 SPECIALITY DIVISION Speciality Division is an off-shoot of GIL s s R & D efforts and a dedication to India s s Carbon & Graphite Field. Started as a Research Centre in 1976 at Bangalore, Speciality Division is nurtured as World Class Production Facility sprawling across two plants, one in Bangalore and another in Nashik. Speciality Division caters to specific requirements of various industries viz. Non-Ferrous, Aerospace, Powder Metallurgy, Mechanical, Chemical, Optical Fiber, Glass, Semi Conductor which were hitherto being imported. GIL has Extruded Presses in Bangalore & Nashik Plant, Compression Molded Presses and Isostatic Presses in Nashik unit respectively to produce fine grain graphite and ultrafine grade graphite products. The manufacturing units are ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 EMS certified by TUV CERT.
