3 Double Edge means twice the number of cutting edges combined with maximum feed rates, which results in short machining times. Through a completely new patented cutting corner for turning inserts, up to now unexpected performance has been achieved in the machining of medium-large workpieces. The benefits of Double Edge tools in rough turning are self-evident: 1. Double feed rates mean half the machining time 2. Long tool life through PLNSEE TIZIT high-performance grades 3. 4 Double Edge The classic single radius is replaced by a double radius at the cutting corner which means twice as many cutting edges. This concept makes a considerably more robust design of the cutting corner possible, using a chip groove which is also adequate for high feed rates. The Masterfinish cutting edge is characterised by an additional smoothing effect, which guarantees a perfect workpiece surface with maximum feed rates. The position in the holder permits simultaneous longitudinal and face machining with only one tool. The Double Edge tooling system is particularly suitable for rough turning of cylindrical workpieces, for longitudinal turning and face turning of disc-formed component parts and for the machining of faces and bores. 8 Double Edge Easy edge selection Incidentally: the marking of the insert makes its application extraordinarily easy. Every insert side is numbered: I and II. Furthermore the edges are marked and which is additionally helpful in application. Even the chip groove designation and the application area are mentioned separately. In this manner you can use all cutting edges of the Double Edge insert in an optimum way and maximise savings.
