2 ALLIANCE weld pins simplify the permanent attachement of insulation to just about any kind of construction metal surface. They can be applied quickly and easily using standard CD or ARC stud welding equipment. ALLIANCE weld pins are available in several different styles to cover a wide variety of application requirements. Some of the factors to consider concerning the style needed for your application would be the base metal type, size and surface condition, and also the welding equipment to be used. ALLIANCE weld pins are used in conjunction with ALLIANCE self-locking washers to complete the insulation fastening operation. For more information concerning the application of weld pins, see the page 2 APPLICATION in this section. We also have available a special model that can be adapt on your automatic weldind system used for the prefabrication of conducts and panels. 12 ALLIANCE Spindle, Insul-Anchors simplify the permanent installation to porous construction surfaces and non-weldable materials. They can be applied quickly and easily using only a pytty knife and ALLIANCE Hanger Adhesive. ALLIANCE Hanger Adhesive is available in 1 gallon cans. The coverage is approximately standard anchors with 2" x 2" plate per 1 gallon can. To complete the insulation fastening operation, ALLIANCE spindle Insul-Anchors are used in conjunction with ALLIANCE Self-Locking washers. For more information concerning the application of insul-anchors, refer to page 2 of this section. OR... APPLY ADHESIVE TO ANCHOR. Or... cover the perforated base with Hanger adhesive from a caulking gun. 4. STICK ANCHOR IN PLACE. Press anchor into position with a twisting motion to assure an even spread of adhesive. The adhesive should protrude through the perforations and beyond the edges of the base. 5. HANG INSULATION. NOTE: ALLOW ADHESIVE TO DRY THOROUGHLY before hanging insulation, usually hours. Drying times vary with temperature. 6. They can be applied quickly and easily. Simply peel off the release backing, press in place, and then hang the insulation. There are no messy adhesives, or time-delay for adhesive curing. ALLIANCE Self-Stick Insul-Anchors are available with a 2" x 2" solid plate and 12 ga. spindle of varying lengths to meet your requirements. To complete the insulation fastening operation, ALLIANCE Self-Stick Insul-Anchors are used in conjunction with ALLIANCE Self-Locking Washers. 19 ALLIANCE Self-locking Washers are used in conjunction with ALLIANCE weld pins, insul-anchors and lacing anchors to fasten insulation in place. Simply press the self-locking washers onto the pin up against the insulation until the desired position is reached and then clip off, or bend over, the remaining portion of pin for a permanent attachment. The choice between Round or square self-locking washer is basically a matter of aesthetics or personal preference. The domed, multi-lanced hole design provides for ease of locating washer on weld pins and positive self-locking. Some styles of washers are manufactured with a beveled edge to prevent the washer from cutting into the insulation facing. ALLIANCE Self-locking washers are available with standard 10 GA, or 12 GA hole sizes off-the-shelf. Other material/plating combinations and hole sizes are available by special order. 18
