9 Material composition of e-scrap e- scrap, a complex mix of: Ag, Au, Pd (precious metals) Cu, Al, Ni, Sn, Zn, Fe, Bi, Sb, In (base & special metals) Hg, Be, Pb, Cd, As (metals of concern!) halogens (Br, F, Cl...) plastics & other organics Glass, ceramics most toxic & most valuable metals are contained in the circuit boards high risk of environmental damage if landfilled or if not treated in an environmentally sound way e-scrap contains valuable metals and resources as such represents a true surface mine for recovery of scarce metals 9

10 Each year UPMR processes around 350,000 tonnes of more than 200 different types of raw materials containing lead/copper/nickel & precious metals. 13% comes from End-of-Life materials and they represent 39% of the turnover. Pb, Cu & Ni drive our unique recycling process. By using the specific properties of these collector metals, precious & other secondary metals are recovered with the greatest efficiency.
