5 STRATEGIC OVERVIEW OPPORTUNITY WHITE DAM CLONCURRY ORE SUPPLY HAZEL CREEK Project portfolio offers immediate opportunity to create cash flow as a platform to grow a significant business. First gold poured after a very successful construction & commissioning program. Ramp-up to 50,000oz p.a. underway & targeting extensions to mine life. Critical mass of Indicated Resource in place for 10-year mine life. EIS submitted seeking project approvals. Aiming to complete Definitive Feasibility Study by late 2010 ahead of development decision. Treatment of Exco s ores at Xstrata s Ernest Henry operation represents a potential alternative to stand alone development. Highly prospective exploration package in established base metal province. Exco has commenced a targeted exploration program. FUNDING Exco is adequately funded d to progress exploration and feasibility activities. 18 WHY WOULD XSTRATA DEAL WITH EXCO? EHM UNDERGROUND PROJECT WILL EXTEND MINE LIFE BUT AT REDUCED CAPACITY The Ernest Henry Mill is capable of processing up to 11Mtpa; however the underground mine will only produce 66 million tonnes per annum of ore at full capacity Source: Xstrata press release 3 December 2009 EHM COPPER PRODUCTION WILL ALSO BE REDUCED : Historically Ernest Henry has produced ,000 tonnes of copper per annum.
