Starting as a gold and silver refinery, we have over 150 years of experience. Today we are a leading provider of non-ferrous metals and the world s largest copper recycler. Precious metals production We stand for excellence in processing copper and precious metal-bearing materials from primary and secondary sources. All materials received are treated in our plants. We produce over 950 mt of silver and over 40 mt of gold and are one of the largest precious metals refiners. We are listed and certified by the LBMA as a conflict-free gold producer. 5 Experts for copper and raw materials As experts in the treatment of copper and precious metal-bearing raw materials, Aurubis is interested in recycling your material containing precious metals. With our different highly efficient processes, we are equipped to handle a wide range of materials. Basically everything with a high enough value to be processed can be treated. From the feed material we produce cathodes, precious metals, various alloys, intermediates and iron silicate. There is hardly anything put to landfill from our processes. Given the high volume of throughput, our processes operate at very low unit costs from which you will benefit. 6 How value is set for your material Upon arrival of your material, lot numbers are assigned. This makes your material trackable from receipt through sampling, processing and settlement. Afterwards, your material is sampled at our plant. With various highly sophisticated sampling technologies and trained and experienced employees in our sampling department, we guarantee a precise and representative sample will be taken for the evaluation of your material. Today, over 70 employees work in this department, each of them specialized for certain materials and the respective automated sampling lines. After sampling, the samples are analyzed by our own in-house laboratories, which also works with the highest standards and is in frequent discussions with other labs. With always new materials and material characteristics, sampling is a crucial part of our business and getting the right results is mandatory.
