Technology Anhydrous Hydrofluoric Acid (AHF) Globally there are Ten AHF plants operating with Chenco Technology.
AHF Technology Anhydrous Hydrofluoric Acid (AHF) AHF is produced in an indirectly heated Rotary Reactor under small vacuum by reaction of 98% Sulfuric Acid and 20% Oleum and dried Fluorspar (97%). The reaction is represented by the following equation: CaF 2 + H 2 SO 4 2 HF + CaSO 4 Η = 25.6 kj/mol HF The reaction is endothermic, e.g. requires a constant supply of heat energy for its completion. Calcium sulfate is produced as a by-product and this synthesized anhydrite is used in the building-, cement- and fertilizer- industry. Chenco process can be modified to accommodate CaF2 with high SiO2, P2O5, As-content impurities
AHF - Technology Anhydrous hydrofluoric Acid (AHF) Application AHF is a precursor of number of fluoro compounds Hydro Fluoro hydrocarbons (HFC refrigerants ) Aluminium fluoride Cryolite ABF UF 6 BF 3 LiPF 6 Stainless Steel pickling Glass etching Fluorine containing Plastics Alkylation Catalysis to produce Aviation, Gasoline, etc.
ALF 3 Technology Aluminium fluoride (AlF 3 ) Globally there are 10 Alf3 plants operating with Chenco Technology.
AlF 3 Technology Aluminium fluoride (AlF 3 ) Aluminium Fluoride is produced by reacting wet (3-7 % H 2 O) Aluminium Hydroxide with the Hydrofluoric Acid gas in a one bed expanded fluid bed reactor. 2Al(OH) 3 Al 2 O H 2 O Al 2 O 3 + 6HF 2 AlF H 2 O The first reaction is endothermic; the second-one is exothermic. The fluid bed reactor needs some heat during normal operation. For starting up, the reactor has to be preheated.
AlF 3 Technology Aluminium fluoride (AlF 3 ) Application Alumina Smelters to reduce the melting point of Al 2 O 3 from 2040 C to 1200 C. Reduction of melting point results in large savings of electrical energy in the manufacturing of Aluminium metal.
LiPF 6 Technology Lithiumhexafluorophosphate (LiPF 6 ) Globally there are 5 plants operating with Chenco Technology.
LiPF 6 Technology Lithiumhexafluorophosphate (LiPF 6 ) CHENCO has a technology for a 200 mt/year capacity LiPF 6 plant (potentially 300 mt/year in 330 working days) wherein LiPF 6 meeting international analytical requirements is produced in an indirectly cooled/heated DRS by the reaction of LiF, PCl 5 and HF in AHF medium, the main reactions being: PCl HF = PF HCl LiF + PF 5 = LiPF 6
LiPF 6 Technology Lithiumhexafluorophosphate (LiPF 6 ) Advantages of Chenco Process Simple, commercially available Equipment Low Investment Costs Easy Regulation High Yields (over 90% on LiF/LiCl) Over 99% Purity without Recrystallization Low Labour Requirement Application LiPF 6 is used as Electrolyte in Lithium Anode Batteries Space, Electric, automobile, computer, photo Industries
BF 3 Technology Boron trifluoride (BF 3 ) World s largest plant of BF3 gas is running with Chenco Technology at Navin Fluorine, in India.
BF 3 Technology Boron trifluoride (BF 3 ) The most economical used process, beside others, to produce BF 3 is the continuously working CHENCO process. Boric Acid or Borontrioxide react with HF and Oleum as per formula below: 3 HF + 3 SO 3 + H 3 BO 3 BF H 2 SO 4 or 3HSO 3 F+ H 3 BO 3 BF H 2 SO 4
BF 3 Technology Boron trifluoride (BF 3 ) Application of BF 3 Acid Catalyst for many types of organic reactions, particularly those of importance in the production of polymer and petroleum products Reactions, such as Polymerization, Alkylation, Isomerization, Esterification, Acylation, Sulfonation Used as a catalyst in the synthesis of anti bacterial medicines.
ABF Technology Ammoniumbifluoride (NH 4 HF 2 ) Both reactants NH 3 and HF in gaseous form are mixed in venturi. The exothermic reaction takes place in an insulated reactor, according to the equation given below: NH 3 + 2HF NH 4 HF 2 H25 = 51.4 Kcal/mol The reaction temperature in the major reaction zone will be over the melting point and above the boiling point of NH 4 HF 2. Globally there are 3 ABF plants running with Chenco Technology
ABF Technology Ammoniumbifluoride (NH 4 HF 2 ) Application Chemical Industry as fluorinating agent Glass Industry for treating, cleaning, polishing of lenses Textile Industry as neutralizer for alkalides in commercial laundries and textile plants Metal Industry for stainless steel pickling and titanium, using acid dips for steel prior to phosphating and galvanizing, for activation of metals before nickel plating Wood Industry for preservation Electronic Industry for preparation of NF 3
