Is a cost effective method used to glue wear resistant alumina ceramic directly to a steel surface using specially formulated Epoxy resins. This method has been used for many years and has proven to work extremely well in pipes and in applications subject to sliding abrasion of fine grains with little to no impact. Alumina ceramic tiles are glued to a 250 grade steel backing plate to which studs are welded to for where bolt on installations are required. 7 offer superior wear and impact protection, typically outlasting metallic linings such as Chromium Carbide by more than 10 times. Combining hard wearing ceramic tiles with a durable polymer matrix proves to be a great solution for protecting capital investments. The Enduratile modern design consists of extremely wear resistant ceramic tiles bonded to a 250 grade steel plate, protected with a highly durable polyether material. Each liner is baked at high temperatures to maximize physical and mechanical properties whilst achieving superior bond strength between the urethane, steel and ceramic. The ceramic tiles are uniformly arranged to suit the flow direction in each application. This reduces the channeling effect of the polyurethane, which sometimes can result in damaging the ceramic tile. 8 ES8500 IMPACT Ceramic Wear Liner ES8500 IMPACT liners are designed to withstand heavy impact during material transfer. These liners consist of extremely dense, hexagonal shaped ceramic tiles coated in a rubber like polymer material to absorb forceful energy. The small ceramic tiles allow the weight and force from the impact to distribute over a series of tiles rather than just the one, significantly reducing the risk of fracture. 10 The installation of linings is a significant part to protecting an application. How you do it may be the difference between a satisfactory wear life and an exceptional wear life. ECI have a team of experienced personnel at their Henderson facility who can retro fit your application to ensure linings are installed correctly in order to achieve a sustainable wear life. Stud Welding Adhering Endurathane sheeting with a thickness less than 25mm can be directly glued to an application with a steel surface. The surface must be grit blasted and cleaned of greases and removal of any visible oxidation. A high strength glue, specifically formulated for adhering rubber plastics to steel is applied to the back of the lining and pressed onto the structure. The glue requires a minimum of 24 hours before operation to achieve optimum bond strength. Bolt on systems are the most common fixing methods used in the mining industry. ECI use high quality studwelding equipment and stud products in accordance with Australian Standards (AS :2010). All Enduratile products can be installed by mechanically fastening it to the application using bolted or welded fasteners. This method is not available for products with a thickness less than 25mm.
