4 Basic Information With an accumulation of technology through long experience, Shinhan Diamond Company Limited is continuously adding improved engineering for precision tools to various progressive strategic businesses. 04
5 Basic Information PCD Polycrystalline Diamond Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) is used for machining of nonferrous and nonmetallic materials. It is an excellent cutting tool material due to its property such as hardness which is much higher than ceramics, and this property contributes to longer tool life. Characteristics Application - Properties uniform in all directions - Excellent wear resistance - Good surface roughness - Superior hardness - Nonferrous Metallic Materials ( AL alloy, MMC, Copper alloy, Tungsten Carbide ) - Nonmetallic Materials (Wood-working, Graphite-Epoxy, Fiberglass-plastic, Ceramics) - High thermal conductivity PCBN Polycrystalline Cubic Boron Nitride Polycrystalline Cubic Boron Nitride (PCBN) is used for machning of ferrous materials. PCBN has good wear and thermal resistance, and shows excellent performance in high speed machining. Characteristics Application - Properties uniform in all directions - High wear resistance - High chemical stability - Ferrous metallic Materials [ Cast Iron, Powder Metal, Hardened Steel ( Hrc > 45 ), Super Alloys ] - High hardness - High thermal conductivity 05
