1 1 The Company DURUM Verschleiss-Schutz GmbH was established in Mettmann near Dusseldorf, Germany in 1984 as a manufacturer and seller of advanced hardfacing products to the German and wider European markets. That same year, DURUM started exporting to more than 10 European countries and from 1986 to Singapore, Thailand, Australia and other overseas markets. Today DURUM has production and service centres in Brazil, France and the USA and exports to the more than 60 countries all over the world! DURUM provides high performance welding and surfacing wires and powders and is a global market leader in the supply of specialized non-magnetic overlays that can be applied by a range of processes including: Flux Cored Wire Plasma Transferred Arc (PTA) Welding Oxy-fuel welding Thermal spray (powder and wire) The company employs national and international PhD s; welding engineers and independent experts from well known and respected universities, which ensures that constant material and process development is achieved to the highest standards. DURUM maintains production and workshop facilities through its subsidiaries in Brazil (Sao Paulo), France (Saint Victor) and the USA (Houston TX). We also support a network of independent agencies throughout the world, guaranteeing the propagation of correct production techniques and excellence of customer service.

2 2 Hardfacing DURUM focuses on continuous development and sets aside a significant annual budget for research and development including new product advancement, product enhancement and the development of highly specialized solutions to the most challenging applications in the oil and gas industry. We met the demanding requirements of today s oil and gas industry with a wide array of welding technologies including Flux Cored Wire, PTA (Plasma Transferred Arc) and our more traditional oxy-acetylene technologies and Thermal Spray Powder and Wire. No As a result of applying specially developed products, we can now offer our clients the unique ability to salvage magnetic and non-magnetic parts that would otherwise have been scrapped. This represents a major breakthrough in our research and development program and a significant cost-benefit to our clients. For example: Materials overlays on thin non-magnetic parts to ensure reduced wear and extended / reusable part life; Application of precise and uniform metal overlays to resize tools, such as stabilizers, to a thickness of over 5 mm.

3 3 Development Parts commonly repaired include string/near bit stabilizers, sleeves and other specialized directional drilling wear parts. For over a decade, in conjunction with our customers, we have engineered the technology of applying DURMAT NIFD wire across a wide array of oilfield equipment. Innovative applications include surface coating the OD and ID of wear sleeves for mud pump motors (lower and upper bearing). These sleeves are then diamond-ground to optimise an exceptionally long-lasting performance solution.

5 5 Wear solutions Today we have a world-class solution developed for every aspect of wear typically encountered throughout the oil and gas industry that meets and exceeds the customer expectations. For over 25 years we have engineered a broad range of wear solution products for a large variety of applications including: Specially created smooth casing-friendly overlays for tool-joints operating in cased holes and incredibly wear resistant overlays for the most challenging open-hole conditions Specialized products for the manufacture of PDC and Tricone Bits New, highly automated PTA stabilizer hardfacings that are more than a match for traditional, manually built thermal dressings (as proven in recent tool-for-tool trials under real downhole conditions) Comprehensive wear protection solutions for Thermal Cuttings Treatment mills, now adopted as manufacturer specification. 6 6 Hardfacing DURUM is one of the market leaders in the repair of non-magnetic tools and parts used in the oil and gas industry. As a result of applying specially developed products we can now offer our clients the unique ability to salvage magnetic and non-magnetic parts that would otherwise This represents a major breakthrough in our research and development program and a significant cost benefit to our client. With the experience of more than 25 years in producing Hardfacing Wires for all kinds of industrial applications DURUM is offering a wide range of crack-free iron based hardfacing wires. Most wires are Open Arc (no extra shielding gas or flux required) and some wires can be applied and reapplied on itself.
