14 ProVantage Kraftliner Aqua Effect on box parameters tensile stiffness The bottom of the corrugated box can be modelled as a rectangular plate -> deflection d of the box bottom could be considered as deflection d of the rectangular plate under load. Deflection of the plate is inversely proportional to plate curvature R, bending stiffness Sb and tensile stiffness St. Higher tensile stiffness St of the corrugated board (i.e. constituent liners St, L1 and St, L2) would result in higher bending stiffness and lower deflection of the box bottom! 21 ProVantage Kraftliner Aqua When we need moisture resistance in fruit and vegetable boxes, we use Aqua products for some small farmers, the harvest of a few days counts for a big part of their yearly income. Therefore extra security of box resistance is required. With Aqua products we can offer it Aqua offers better water resistance against wet berries. It keeps good stacking strength and low bottom deflection when wet berries are stored and transported Strawberries are harvested mostly direct to the corrugated boxes.
