2 FleetShield is a new exciting product from Dulux catering for commercial vehicle (CV) refinishing. FleetShield offers 5 different premium quality two pack bases, increasing colour range and superior coverage. A complete range of solid colour tinters and pearls tinters to tint, match and customise any single layer 2K colour colours are available for the Dulux 2K PR system with a approximately 200 colours added from local matching & aligned with Snapshot. FleetShield offers a complete range of ancillary products, primers, clears and a range of hardeners and thinners to suit all temperatures and job sizes. Flattening base for reduced gloss levels. A complete range of products to suit plastic parts. 1

3 Base Line Shade Max Tint Colours which can be Tinted By Weight Red Base 428-S % Red, maroon, dark orange Yellow Base 428-S % Yellow, mid to light orange, bright green Clear Base 428-S % Mid to dark blue, green and purple, pearl White Base 428-S % Light blue, green, purple, light grey and all white. 4 White Base 428-S0204 is aligned with Autospeed PR 427-T0204. Replaces HS White with Approx 20% less pigment Red Base 428-S0011 is aligned with Autospeed PR 427-T0011. Yellow Base 428-S0062 is aligned with Autospeed PR 427-T0062. Black Base is aligned to 2K Black and is unchanged. 3

16 Hold viscosity cup by handle & completely submerge into paint Hold stop watch in other hand, ready to start Lift viscosity cup out of paint and start stop watch immediately As soon as paint flow from cup breaks, stop the stop watch. Check time on stop watch to Technical Data Sheet. If time is out more than 2-3 seconds either side, add reducer Test again Spray Viscosity Ford Din 25 0 C seconds 15

17 Substrate Preparation Primer Topcoat Alloys & Aluminium Steel Fibreglass Plastic Curtains 1. Clean areas with Prepwash If required sand repair areas P80- P120 for body fillers 3. No repairs sand with P180-P Red scourer for AL 5. Clean again with Prepwash 6. No Prepwash on body fillers 1. Clean surface areas with Plastic cleaner 965-S New plastic sand with grey scouring pad. 3. Repairs sand with P240 P Clean again Plastic Cleaner 1. Alloys-No Repairs CV Ultraetch or DP42 2. Alloys Repairs CV Ultraetch or DP42 + HS Primer. 3. Steel CV Ultraetch or DP42 or Epoxy Urethane primer, HS Primer. 4. Fiberglass Epoxy Urethane Primer + HS primer 1. Apply Plastic Primer Single wet coat 3. Allow to flash of 3 5 mins before applying topcoats 1. FleetShield 2:1 2K mix colour. 2. 2:1:10%-20% min flash off between coats. 4. Air Dry overnight 5. Baking 30min@60 o C 6. Infrared 8-20 min depending on type of Infra Red. 1. FleetShield 2:1 2K mixed colour with Flex Additive Plastic Parts mix 5:1 then mix at 2:1 with Hardener. 3. Curtains mix the same. 18 Substrate Preparation Primer Topcoat Heavy Steel (Chassis) New Heavy Steel (Chassis) Refurbishment 1. Abrasive blast to remove Mill Scale to SA2.5 Standard *. 2. Clean with Prepwash 3. Sand with P80 to P Clean again with Prepwash. * SA2.5 Standard refers to cleanliness of steel. Very thorough blast cleaning. Near white metal 85% clean. 1. Degrease surface areas with Prepwash. 2. Sand P80 to P120 to remove rust, flaking paint. 3. Sand P240 P320 + Red scouring pad to abrade surface for adhesion. 4. Clean again Prepwash Identify whether the Paint spec requires a special protective coating e.g. Zinc or needs temperature ratings prior to primer coats 1. Etch Primer. CV Ultraetch or DP42 or Epoxy Urethane Primer 2. Repairs HS Primer Dulux Refinish Etch Primer such CV Ultraetch, DP42 and Epoxy Urethane Primer can be topcoated directly 1. FleetShield 2:1 2K mix colour. 2. 2:1:10%-20% min flash off between coats. 4. Air Dry overnight 5. Baking 30min@60 o C 6. Infrared 8-20 min depending on type of Infra Red.
