5 Marcegaglia has set up its by far biggest steel metallurgy plant in Ravenna, as well as the nerve-center for integrated logistics to supply each production and distribution facility of the industrial group. The new production facility, endowed with state of the art machinery, is the result of the group s constant investment policy aimed to increase its production capacity and range, the quality of raw materials and final products, the flexibility and rationalization of activities, and also to improve logistics, distribution and reliability towards the clientele.

6 Spreading over a 540,000-mq surface (225,000 covered) between the left bank of the channel-harbour and the industrial area on the northern city seashore, the complex hosts the most technologically advanced machines for chemical pickling, cold rolling, annealing, galvanizing and pre-painting of steel coils and a service center for slitting and cut-to-length of carbon steel coils. The plant, which is also the main logistic and intermodal hub for all the industrial and commercial activities of Marcegaglia, employs about 750 workers.

The facility has a yearly output of 1,1 million tons, and is equipped with 7 cut-to-length machines and 9 slitter for sheets up to 2,000 mm wide and from 0.25 to 15 mm thickness.
