This solution offers the possibility to obtain granules suitable to be used to produce food packaging ( food contact ) in accordance with the regulations of FDA and EFSA, as well as granules for applications that require high viscosity. The technology was developed for the treatment of PET granules. The decision to focus on the granule, rather than on the flakes or on other types of grinded material, was adopted to reduce the volumes: the granule, in fact, has a specific weight 2.5 times higher than the flake. Furthermore, the granules have a sliding behavior that makes them easily transportable with pneumatic systems and do not require specific systems for the management of the powders (cyclones, filters, etc.... ) From the partnership of: sb plastics machinery 2 3

3 G MOBY works through two main phases: the phase of recovery of waste products that are processed into granules and the phase where the granules are heat treated with a system of SSP (Solid State Polycondensation). The line G MOBY using the principle of irradiation through infrared waves and vacuum, in a single step: crystallizes dehumidificate operates the Super Clean Transformation process of the waste in granule and subsequent treatment with the SSP system Storage hopper / feeding of the material to recycle. At the beginning of the process, the material to be recovered has a treatment of pre-drying. This operation is very important because the absence of moisture inhibits the degradation by hydrolysis during the extrusion process. We get this result into the shredder COMPAC where PET is brought and maintained at a temperature of C, to ensure the complete evaporation of the water. The second step in the process is the fusion, filtration and granulation of PET which occurs through the use of the extruder (contiguous to the shredder) a screen changer and a underwater pelletizer. What is obtained at the end of the process is a granule of amorphous PET with a very low decreasing of the IV grade, decreasing that often is reduced to zero. The filtration is extremely important because it eliminates any impurities present in the material (paper, wood, aluminum, etc...) and can be pushed up to the removal of particles larger than 32 microns. At this point the granule that comes out by the pelletizer and that still retains most of the heat acquired during the two previous processes, is introduced in MOBY. This device using the principle of the irradiation through infrared waves and vacuum up to mbar, in one single step, crystallizes, dehumidifies and operates the Super Clean on the material. In this way, all the contaminants present in the PET will be removed, making it suitable for food use. The same machine can be used for re-grade the material by operating the so-called SSP (Solid State Polycondensation), returning to the material the same mechanical characteristics and rheological properties which had in its virgin state. Only by increasing the time of staying of the granule into the MOBY it will be possible to reach even higher degrees of IV 0.9 dl / gr. 4 5

G MOBY can pelletize waste of any shape from the bottles, the plates, the straps, textile yarn thanks to the shredding unit COMPAC. G MOBY, in fact, can pelletize waste of any form - from bottles, plates, the straps, textile yarn by the COMPAC shredding unit, that provides to agglomerate the material and to prepare it to the extruder. Through the filtration, the TI underwater pelletizer, infrared system and vacuum MOBY vacuum, the line of regeneration G MOBY returns a PET material, that can be used to any production, from food packaging (the so-called Bottle-to- Bottle) up to applications that require high hardness. Using in the proper way the flexibility of the system, you can get a return of investment of around 12 months. G MOBY is available in a range of sizes with capacities from 80 kg / h (with the smaller line GM50 COM- PAC) at 2200 kg / h (with the GM210 COMPAC).
