Food Grade Conveyor Belts (Hygienic) Food Grade These belts with white rubber covers do not impart odour and do not stain the materials to be conveyed and thus are particularly suitable for food processing and pharmaceuticals industries. These belts are manufactured with FDA approved polymers and are available in high abrasion resistant / antistatic / oil resistant cover grades. Conforming as per International Standards. The Essential Characteristics of GI Conveyor Belts are: - High tensile resistance with low elongation. Good troughing and impact resistance. High flexibility of the carcass fabric to prevent bucking while wrapping on pulleys. Available up to 1800 mm width and any number of plies. Good interface adhesion of components for better flex life. Better load carrying over long haulage. Available in moulded rubber or tough slit edge finish. Resistance to environmental operating conditions. Resistance to heat and to high environmental temperatures. Resistance to chemical products such as acid, oxidizing agents even at significant concentrations. Good surface electrical conductivity, good resistance to fire and flame propagations.

5 Flat Transmission Rubber Beltings The Transmission Belts are manufactured from the best raw-materials duly tested in our Modern Laboratory. These belts are fabricated with multiple plies of specially woven fabrics with sufficient tensile strength both in wrap & weft directions. The cotton ducks (fabrics) are completely impregnated with specially formulated rubber compounds to get the best ply adhesion & excellent flex life in actual; service. The edges of belts are sealed with special binding solution to prevent ingress of moisture and fraying of the edges. Samples from finished belts are tested for quality control before being shipped. The belts are made in a wide range viz. type of fabrics, number of plies and widths to meet customer s needs and service requirements. Fabric Types & General Specifications: - Transmission Belting Products Spectrum 1 Duck Type (Fabric) 34 Oz. 32 Oz. 28 Oz. 2 Nominal Weight: gm/sq. mtr Tensile Strength (Fabric) a) Wrap-kg/mm/width b) Weft-kg/mm/width Tensile Strength of finished belt per ply kgf/25mm a) Warp b) Weft Tensile Strength per ply of finished belting a) Wrap N/mm width b) Weft N/mm width Ply Adhesion kgf/2.5cm wide strip 7 Power rating KW/cm/ply at belt speed of 5 Mtr./sec. for pulley dia of 250mm & 180 arc of contact Range of Transmission Beltings: - a) Number Of Plies : 2 To 8 b) Width : 25mm to 250 mm

6 Flat Transmission Rubber Beltings Thickness of Transmission Beltings: - Ply Construction Nominal Belt Thickness Tolerance 3 Ply 3.9 MM ± 0.5 MM 4 Ply 5.1 MM ± 0.7 MM 5 Ply 6.4 MM ± 0.8 MM 6 Ply 7.7 MM ± 1.0 MM 8 Ply 10.4 MM ± 1.1 MM No. of Plies Maximum Belt Speed (Meters Per Second) Pulley Diameters: - Load transmission capacity of belt is directly proportional to its speed. Large diameter pulleys with increased surface speed and consequently high load capacity (of the belts), gives a greater safety to the outer plies of the belts from the effect of excessive stress and also help to regulate the load throughout the cross section of the belt. Width Of Pulley Belt Width in MM Pulley Width in MM Up to 125 MM Belt Width + 13 MM 125 MM to 250 MM Belt Width + 25 MM Installation / Inspection & Care of Transmission Belts: - 1. For getting correct initial tension the length of the belt is cut shorter than the actual steel tape measurement around the pulleys on the following basis: a) Belts upto 3 plies - 1.5% or 15 MM / Mtr. b) Belts with 4. 5 & 6 plies - 1.0% or 10 MM / Mtr. c) Belts upto 7 plies - 0.5% or 5 MM / Mtr. 2. Both ends of the belts should be square cut at the right angles to the edges and should not have ragged cotton ends. 3. Let the belt run for few minutes and read just the tension, if necessary.
