3 Introduction ONE-PART RTV ANTI-CORROSION COATING FOR EXTREME ENVIRONMENTS Epsilon EM-Silprocoat is an ultra-hydrophobic RTV coating engineered around silicone elastomers that possess excellent chemical and UV- resistant properties. EM-Silprocoat is a rubberized coating system that sticks like a rubber sheet to the metallic substrate. This high performance highly elastic coating will stretch and contract with the metal substrate as the cycle of thermal expansion and contraction plays out every day. Moreover, the elasticity of the coating resists surface tears due to rust creep. Corrosive elements cannot penetrate through the silicone coating barrier into the metal surface and therefore Silprocoat can eliminate or reduce: Environmental concerns of lead paint Galvanic corrosion, from salt spray and chemical environments Oil and grease contamination, mill scale, rust and graphitization Page 1

4 Epsilon EM-Silprocoat RTV Coating has proven superiority over: Epoxy systems that become brittle, chalk and flake Alkyds and modified silicone alkyds that also peel, chalk and fade Zinc rich coatings that are difficult to field apply and need top coats High cost encapsulating systems in asbestos and lead paint abatement 2 part Coating systems INTENDED USAGE For use on metallic and nonmetallic substrates in corrosive environments. Ideal for power equipment, transformers, transformer fins, metallic roofing, boiler stacks, outer sides of aboveground and underground storage tanks (ambient and warm temperature), pipelines, steel structures, junction boxes and other areas with medium to low traffic. 6 Packing, Storage, Handling, Application and Maintenance PACKING Standard Container Sizes are 4.54 kg and 22.7 kg STORAGE & HANDLING Store in a cool and dry place with adequate ventilation. Keep containers tightly sealed. Material must be agitated thoroughly prior to use Keep away from heat, sparks, open flame and moisture The coating has a shelf life of 9 months from date of delivery to the customer and must be applied within that period for warranties to hold good SAFETY EM-Silprocoat uses a neutral cure system and therefore no objectionable byproduct fumes are evolved during application. Adequate ventilation should be provided with extensive use of this coating. On direct contact, the coating may irritate eyes. Flush with water and call a physician Please refer to the latest version of the MSDS QUANTITY ESTIMATION Usage and transfer efficiency of the coating is largely dependent upon application efficiencies, applicator training, equipment design, weather conditions at time of coating etc. For assistance please contact us by here. APPLICATION Application must be conducted by qualified personnel with suitable training. A target dry film thickness of between 200 and 300 microns is most suitable. Thickness may be measured as WFT (Wet Film Thickness) or DFT (Dry Film Thickness). POST-APPLICATION MAINTENANCE Maintenance not needed after application in most cases. Care should be taken to not climb on, scratch or physically harm the coating. However, performance of the coating will not be degraded by minor nicks or cuts Page 4
