2 Started its journey in the year 199 as Shivam Coke Pvt. Ltd. (SCPL) to process raw Coal into Low Ash Metallurgical Coke (LAM Coke). SCPL had installed a Coal Benefication Plant (Coal Washery) to cater the increasing demand in the market. After establishing its prestigious reputation in the industry of coal, it further accelerated and started developing its roots in the emerging market of Iron & Steel, the Group entered into in the year of 008 to connect itself directly to the consumer market by the flagship company of the Group i.e. Shivam Meltech Pvt. SMPL is is equipped with Electric Furnaces, latest state-of-the-art automatic rolling mill (with German-based Thermex Technology) for the production of finished steel (TMT Re-bar). For the first time in India, we had introduced Train-Rolling Mill System for production of High Quality finished goods. SMPL manufactures TMT Rebars in two brand names, which are SHIVAAM and SMS. SMPL also manufactures Billets and Wire Rods. ISO 9001:008

4 Sponge Iron & basic grade Pig Iron is melted in Induction Furnace along with Ferro Alloys. Slag is removed at regular intervals and a sample is taken -3 times during melting for Spectrometer Analysis. The liquid metal is then tapped into Ladle with purging arrangement and transported to Plasma Ladle Refining Furnace [LRF]. Liquid metal from LRF is brought to Continuous Casting Machine [CCM] for casting into required size of Billets. The CCM is fully PLC controlled. After inspection and surface grinding, billets are sent to either market or to the Rolling Mills in the required lengths to manufacture TMT Rebars. THE PROCESS Thermex from H&K, Germany In the Thermo Mechanically Treated [TMT] process, hot steel billets are directly rolled through train rolling system which progressively reduces the billets to the finished size and shape of the TMT Re-inforcement Bar. This TMT process is followed by the THERMEX process to give the bar more strength and ductility through the following steps: Quenching: By special water spray system to turn its periphery into a martensite Zone (hard zone) while keeping its inner surface ferrite pelite. Self Tempering: In this stage the bar leaves the quenching system with the temperature of the core being much higher than that of the surface. That makes the heat to flow from the core to the surface, making the surface tempered, and a structure that is called Tempered Martensite. Atmospheric Cooling: In this final stage, cooling takes place on the cooling bed where the final structure consists of hard outer periphery making it more stronger, more corrosion resistant and fire resistant. The soft inner surface gives the metal ductility (more bendability and elongation), better fatigue resistance and a safe structure making to withstand natural calamities.

Applications at: Sea Port & Jetty Construction; Major Dams; Hydro Power Stations. Major Flyovers & Bridges; Major Industrial Projects; Major Dams, etc. Saving upto 17% In case of constructions like RCC Foundations, Heavy Beams, etc. if steel of Grade Fe415 is used, then for example say 100 kgs of steel is required. But if Fe500+ is used then the requirement of steel is 83 kgs; i.e. a saving of 17 kgs of steel.
