15 Manufacturing processes and technologies / 15 Fitting shop: Pressing fasteners into sheet metal Machines used: HAEGER 618plus He press Components used: Nut: reliably creates threads outside the material with high resistance against spinning and pulling. Compression nuts may be used for high-strength applications, for pressing into thin sheets or on the sheet edges. Screws: reliably create threads outside the material with high resistance against spinning and pulling. Compression screws may be used for high-strength applications, for pressing into thin sheets or on the sheet edges. PEM Studs: can be used for thin sheets where it is necessary to create threads. Standoffs do not protrude after pressing from the sheet. Like other fasteners and standoffs, they have a high resistance against spinning and pulling.
