2 What are DEQUEST FS? Why DEQUEST FS? DEQUEST FS are specialty phosphonates solutions designed for Industrial & Institutional applications What do DEQUEST phosphonates? DEQUEST FS have been selected to steadily answer the need for a quick solution for the challenging reformulation work that many I&I product manufacturers have to face in order to replace NTA. DEQUEST FS phosphonates are highly stable organic chelating and scale control agents which form stable soluble complexes with metal ions. They prevent water hardness ions (Ca ++ and Mg ++ ) and other trace metal ions from hindering the efficacy of cleaning agents. On top of their protecting role, phosphonates participate to the cleaning process by loosening and dispersing the dirt. Of special interest is the capability of phosphonates to prevent scale deposit while formulated at low level. This ability to control scale formation at sub-stoichiometric level is known as threshold scale inhibition. Unlike aminocarboxylate and polycarboxylate chelants, selected phosphonates have the ability to protect bleach from decomposition by trace metal ions. DEQUEST FS properties DEQUEST FS exhibit, among others, enhanced calcium tolerance, scale inhibition and bleach stabilization over a wide ph range. Three proprietary DEQUEST FS have been developed to fit the broad composition range of I&I formulations. 3 Detergent for commercial automatic dishwashing Presoak, detergent and rims cleaner in car wash High ph, high temperature and short contact time are the challenging conditions found in professional dishwashing. As a consequence, special attention has to be paid to the scale formation inhibition that is favoured in this harsh environment. To answer solubility issue that may be found at high ph with traditional phosphonates and control the high scale formation potential under professional dishwashing operating conditions, DEQUEST FS 0520 has been developed. Bleach stabilization and stain removal (tea, coffee, wine, grease ) are also provided by DEQUEST FS 0536 complexation of free and stain entrapped metal ions. DEQUEST FS contribute to soil dispersion in order to have spotless shiny dish. Beside ph and surfactants, chelants are one of the most important ingredient of car wash chemistry. While traditional chelants provide metal sequestration, DEQUEST FS help the traffic film removal (presoak and detergent), grease cleaning (rims cleaner) and disperse the soil for oustanding results. Additionally, DEQUEST FS effectively bind water hardness ions in the rinse stage to provide a spotless finish. DEQUEST FS 0520 is suitable for concentrated high ph formulations while DEQUEST FS 0536 provides a cost effective approach. 4 Hard surface and in-place cleaners Detergent and alkalinity booster in laundry Hard surface and in-place cleaners cover a wide range of applications and corresponding operating conditions. The selected DEQUEST FS are suitable to cover the full range of operating conditions and contribute significantly to the cleaning power of these formulations while protecting bleaching agent, helping the sanitization process and preventing corrosion of metallic surfaces. The boost in grease, cooked food and burned soil removal that is brought by DEQUEST FS is of special interest for application such as all purpose and oven cleaners. Finally, the sequestering properties of DEQUEST FS help film and spotting prevention (i.e. for bottle washing). DEQUEST FS 0520 is the most appropriate to provide corrosion inhibition to aluminium and mild steel surfaces (i.e. tank and pipe) and to be used in high ph conditions. DEQUEST FS 0536 is appropriate for oxygen and hypochlorite containing formulations. Standard wash processes in professional and institutional laundries rely on bleach, temperature and/or high ph to get spotless and disinfected linen. DEQUEST FS grades help stain removal while preventing fiber and heating element encrustation and early bleach decomposition that may occur in such conditions. DEQUEST FS 0520 is the most suitable for alkaline detergent and alkalinity booster. DEQUEST FS 0531 provides outstanding encrustation prevention while DEQUEST FS 0536 exhibits through the wash oxygen bleach stabilization (i.e. water peroxide and peracetic acid).
