Systems introduction 1) Solvent free 2 pack epoxy 2) Solvent free Polyurethane 3) PMMA acrylic system

Main properties requirement - Foaming avoid foam stabilizing additives especially a levelling agent that stabilized foam. - Color evenness select a suitable dispersant - Good substrate wetting use a fluorocarbon modified polyacrylic as levelling agent - Good leveling use a good combination of silicone and non-silicone levelling agent - No viscosity pick up Avoid using high amine value materials, mainly coming from the dispersants

Foaming General rules : Low surface tension + Compatibility = Foam stabilizing - the lowest the surface tension, more foam will be created, thus avoid. Low surface tension + incompatible = not a foam stabilizer - possible a good defoamer but at least it will not stabilized foam.

Defoamer Additives and foam stabilizing Based on incompatible, give defoaming property. Leveling agent Most leveling agents are foam stabilizer as they reduce surface tension and gives compatibility. However special modified leveling that crater for foam sensitive system are available from AFCONA where it can perform leveling, slip, anti-crater as well as defoaming. Dispersing agent Dispersing agent must be compatible in order it can function as dispersing agent. Thus we can not avoid foam stabilizing contribution of dispersing agent to the system. However as dispersing agent does not reduce surface tension too low as silicone, thus the foam stabilizing i effect is possible to solve by a suitable defoamer.

For better performance, combination of AFCONA 2040 or AFCONA 2038 at % will increase the defoaming performance.

AFCONA Defoamers Resin System : 2 pack solventless epoxy : Transparent Clearcoat AFCONA 2720 Polyhydrocarbon based defoamer. Gives good transparency. AFCONA 2723 Better transparency than AFCONA Silicone based. AFCONA 2038 Very good transparency but also strong in defoaming. Silicone based. Highly recommended. If deforming is not enough, combine with small portion of AFCONA

AFCONA Defoamers Resin System : 2 pack solventless epoxy : Coloured / pigmented AFCONA 2722 Combination of Polysiloxane and low polar polymers defoamer. Strong defoamer. AFCONA 2725 A non silicone based defoamer with 100% active ingredient as defoamer. A strong defoamer. AFCONA 2722 and AFCONA 2725 perform differently in different hardener. AFCONA 2726 Very high concentration of Polysiloxane and polyhydrocarbon based defoamer. Very effective and also provide good leveling. AFCONA New defoamer based on polyether alkyl modification. Very strong defoaming property with leveling performance.

AFCONA Defoamers Resin System : 2 pack solventless polyurethane : Transparent Clearcoat AFCONA 2045 Silicone based defoamer. Gives good transparency. AFCONA 2038 Silicone defoamer, give very transparent but not so strong in defoaming as AFCONA , high dosage needed.

AFCONA Defoamers Resin System : 2 pack solventless Polyurethane : Coloured / pigmented AFCONA 2722 Combination of Polysiloxane and low polar polymers defoamer. Strong defoamer. AFCONA 2725 A non silicone based defoamer with 100% active ingredient as defoamer. A strong defoamer. AFCONA 2020 Cheap and efficient defoamer. More sensitive to give craters..

AFCONA Defoamers Resin System : PMMA system : Transparent Clearcoat AFCONA 2040 A fluorocarbon silicone defoamer, very compatible yet effective as defoamer in high polar system such as PMMA.. Resin System : PMMA system : Coloured / pigmented AFCONA 2725 A very strong defoamer for PMMA system. Based on a very low polar polymer..

This will improve system performance of anti-crater, levelling and substrate wetting properties. Thus we recommended to formulate with a combination of AFCONA silicone and AFCONA non silicone leveling agents.

AFCONA Additive-Dispersing agent Manufacturing of colored paint involved grinding of pigments. This is the major task for the whole manufacturing process. In floor coating, current grinding methods are : - Separate grinding This grinding method involved separately preparation of individually ypg pigment paste which is grinded separately. Final colors are made from mixing again these pigment pastes in different ratio. - Co-grinding This is a more common method in this paint system. This method are referring to grinding all the pigments in the formulation at once. All pigment are mix together with other mill based formulation ingredients and grind together.

AFCONA Additive-Dispersing agent Co-grinding Method (Epoxy and Polyurethane) AFCONA 5066 Low foam stabilizing conventional wetting and dispersing i agent. Based on polyacidic functional group as anchoring agent. Dosage : % based on total formulation AFCONA 4017 Polyurethane based polymeric dispersant specially for co-grinding. Contain amines and acids anchoring groups where amines are have more affinity to organic pigments and acid s are more for inorganic pigments. Dosage : 1.0% based on total formulation
