2 CDS Garnet (30/60) is certified by the California Air Resources Board for dry unconfined blasting. CDS Garnet meets all known current chemical limits for fre e silica and heavy toxic metals and the latest US Navy specification MIL -A B(SH). The information set forth herein is based on technical data believed to be accurate; it is intended for use by person having technical skill and at their own discretio n and risk. Since conditions of use are outside our control, CDS makes no warranties, express or implied, concerning the use of this product and assumes no liability in connection with any use of this information. 1. Composition / Information of Ingredient s Chemical Characteristics: Blasting sand (mineral origin), CDS Garnet is a natural mixture of Almandite Garnet ~ (Fe, Mg) AL (SIO ) and other trace minerals. The following listed substances are present and are regulated by OSHA or ACGIH limits. CAS# : Almandite Garnet Substance: WT% OSHA/ACGIH Limit in use* Zirconium <0.20% 5.0mg/m³ Quartz <0.10% 0.1mg/m³ Natural radiation levels are equal to or less than background levels. Meets US Navy standards: MIL-A (SH) *If these levels are exceeded respiratory protection must be employed. 2. Hazard Identification Health Hazards (Acute and Chronic): known Use as a blast cleaning media may create conditions of exposure to nuisance dust. Carcinogenicity: NTP? IARC Monographs? OSHA Regulated? Contains less than 0.1% free Silica No mg/m³ Signs and Symptoms of Exposure: Exposure to nuisance dust may cause eye, throat or lung irritation coughing, or shortness of breath. Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure: Chronic Bronchitis, Emphysema and other lung disease may be aggravated by exposure to nuisance dust. 3. First Aid Measures After Skin Contact: Wash affected area with soap and water

3 Eye Contact: After Inhalation: Wash eyes with water to flush out dust particles Fresh air. 4. Fire-Fighting Measures Flash Point (Method Used) Flammable limits LEL UEL Material is non-flammable solid Extinguishing Media Use extinguishing media appropriate for surrounding fire Special Fire Fighting Procedures As appropriate to surrounding fire. Fire -fighters should be protected from nuisance dust. Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards 5. Accidental Release Measures Personal Precautions: Environment Protection: Cleaning Up Methods: Remove mechanically 6. Handling & Storage Handling: Storage: Waste Disposal Method: No special regulations (Sweep or vacuum material for disposal, prevent unnecessary dust) No special regulations (Use good housekeeping practices to reduce dust; use approved hand, eye and respiratory protection when handling material) Follow local authority guidelines for disposal of inert sold waste 7. Exposure Controls / Personal Protection MAK-Value (1994): 6mg/m3 Respiratory Protection (Specify Type) NIOSH/MSHA approved filters and air supplied hoods for blasters
