Cold-rolled steel strips in best shape. Cold-rolled, surface-refined and precise.

Cold-rolled steel strips for sophisticated applications Thin, wide and with special material properties: Precision strip from our cold-rolling plant is the ideal material for your products. With ultramodern plant technology, motivated employees and our know-how which has been enhanced constantly for more than 80 years, we produce cold-rolled steel strips for your sophisticated applications. Giebel Kaltwalzwerk means high-tech forming combined with precise heat treatment, the respective re-rolling, surface refinement and finishing up to your perfect product. Two rolling mills of Sendzimir and S6-High types are the heart of our machinery. Very small thicknesses and a width spectrum of up to 1,040 millimetres allow the production of cold-rolled steel strips in excess widths made out of various materials and surface requirements. Modern high-convection batch annealing furnaces are used for heat treatment in a controlled H 2 protective gas atmosphere. Thus we can manufacture both custom-made as well as efficiently. Our high quality standard and efficiency can be found throughout the entire process chain. From high-quality raw material, via annealing, rolling, degreasing, texturing and re-rolling up to surface refinement and a finishing line, we use an experienced team to provide all work steps in accordance with the requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001 and the automotive standard ISO/TS Reliable occupational, health and environmental protection are a matter of course to us. We are certified You can find an overview of our current certifications on our website: Website 2

Precision rolling High convection annealing Individual products Our precision rolling mills permit the production of very small thicknesses with minimal tolerances, and also excess widths. By annealing in our batch annealing furnaces, we increase the formability of the steel in a controlled way in-between the process steps. Our final product is steel of the highest grade and quality, produced on request with tightest tolerances and with inline quality assurance. 3

Quality assured and guaranteed Our product range comprises cold-rolled strips in a multitude of qualities, dimensions and surface finishes. It doesn t matter which of our products you choose, it comes from one of the most modern cold rolling mills in Europe. The best material properties can only be achieved by keeping an eye on the entire production process. Here we emphasize high precision and minimum tolerances for each single step and in every detail. Perfectly adjusted raw material specifications are an important requirement for an optimum cold rolled product. The synthesis of technology and tools is the result of long lasting experience and development as well as effective quality assurance. Tensile testing Among others, we have the following test procedures: Tensile testing is the fundamental quality test in our company. tensile test (Rp0.2, Rm, A, r-value, n-value) hardness test according to Vickers (HV), Brinell (HBW), and Rockwell (HRB, HRC, HR30T, HR45T) roughness test (Ra, Rz, Rmax, Rt) metallography (determination of level of purity, grain size) chemical analysis (specimen analysis by means of spark spectrometer) coating adhesion for finished strips 4

Finishing according to your requirements Our high quality standard is also reflected in the surfaces of our Shinox products. We provide finishing according to your requirements with different coatings, dimensions and further treatments on our own lines with state-of-the-art technology and environmental protection. On our galvanic zinc coating line, we can provide electrolytic finishing according to DIN EN on both sides with a zinc coatings of 2 μm up to 10 μm. The galvanic tin-coating line provides tin-plating on both sides according to DIN EN with a maximum of thirty grams per square metre per side. Both inline as well as stationary X-ray fluorescence layer thickness measuring devices are available for quality assurance. They guarantee a continuously stable layer thickness. Final slitting and packing according to customers request is also part of our service. 7

Product development and innovation Thanks to ideal manufacturing by our experienced specialists you save time in production. Our products are characterised not only be the highest quality and precision manufacturing. We also offer intelligent solutions which contribute to optimising downstream processes and increasing productivity. 8

Our oscillated wound coils are an example of how we can contribute to increasing your efficiency. Compact coil dimensions with considerably longer strip lengths simplify the handling for you and shorten set-up times in your production. Downtime for coil changes is minimised. The coiler size can be adapted flexibly to your machinery so that you can profit from the benefits and are independent of the technical conditions on-site. We also improve our internal processes constantly to be able to support the processes of our customers in the best possible way. Customer- and service-orientation have always been part of our fundamental values. We use a professional production planning and control system to work continuously on extending our lead. 9

In the cold rolling business unit we bundle decades of experience in producing high-quality cold-rolled and surface refined steel strips. In very modern plants, we manufacture cold-rolled strips in the thinnest dimensions and widths of up to 1,040 millimetres with the tightest tolerances. Custom-made surface variations and high-precision products from a single source. Our steel service centres combine the local strengths and expertise in processing and logistics of five equally traditional as well as innovative plants in one business unit. The steel distribution business unit comprises the warehousing and distribution of steel products and also includes numerous special products. Processing close to the product, such as sawing, oxyacetylene cutting, plasma and laser cutting, creates highprecision work pieces. We support our customers throughout the process as a supplier of systems for demanding profiles and prefabricated parts that are made from extruded aluminium alloys. We develop individual and innovative solutions together with our customers in a professional dialogue about the utilised material and the required product. 10
