3 Application Process: Conventional or HVLP application: Apply a closed coat, followed by a full coat. Flash-off time 5-10 minutes at 20 C between coats. Airless / Airmix/ ES application: Apply a grip coat followed directly by one single coat. Note: Autocoat BT LV 250 Topcoat can also be applied with roller or supple brush. Film Thickness: A + B+ C+ E : µm dry D : µm dry Cover rate: Theoretically m²/l ready for use mixture at 50µm dry. Note: The practical cover rate depends on many factors i.e. shape of the object, roughness of the surface, application method and application circumstances. Cleaning of Equipment: Use Sikkens Solvent, a nitrocellulose thinner. Drying times of the standard mixture ratio : 20 C 40 C 60 C Dust dry : 1½ hours Dry to handle : 6-8 hours 1-1½ hours 30 min. 4 Notes: 1. A second LV 250 Topcoat MM/RM color, normal or accelerated mixing ratio, can be applied on the first LV 250 Topcoat color after overnight drying. To reduce masking times, use the Air Dry mixture with the LV 250 Accelerated Reducer, force dry at 60 C for 15 mins (object temperature). Recoat after cooling down, but within 24 hrs without abrading. 2. When these drying times are exceeded, abrade LV 250 Topcoat with Scotch Brite Type S Ultra Fine (Grey) or apply a 1-coat of Autocoat BT LV 850 Sealer in case of the second LV 250 Topcoat color. 3. LV 250 Topcoat MM/RM can be recoated only wet-on-wet with LV 850 Clear within 45 minutes and 2 hours at 20 C. LV 250 Topcoat MM/RM can be recoated only wet-on-wet with LV 851 Clear after 30 min - 1 hour at 20 C. LV 250 Topcoat MM/RM can be recoated wet-on-wet with LV 853 Clear after 45 min up to 24 hours at 20 C OR after 25 min up to 24 hrs after 30 min / 60 C bake. When these time periods are exceeded, abrade LV 250 Topcoat MM/RM with Scotch Brite Type S Ultra Fine (Grey).
