Aluminum is after Silica, the second most prevalent metal in the world. About 8% of our planet is Alumina

PA CK A GING In 2012, 1.9 million tonnes of Aluminum was used for packaging and foil.

Aluminum packaging collected via dual-systems mixed with plastic and ca. 1% other materials. Aluminum-Packaging Our flagship product?pyralu? consisting of minimum 97% aluminum and zero organic-contamination.

Filled or empty aerosol dispensers sent through the pyrolysis to be recycled and freed of all liquids, gases, and paints. AEROSOL DISPENSERS Clean aluminum cans (mostly primary aluminum). Any steel rings are subsequently removed.

Aluminum Cans out of collection programs, sorting plants, and deposit-schemes that may contain tin-plated steel, plastic, and or paints. Metal content typically 35-95%. Aluminum Cans (UBCs) Clean aluminum cans in either a 3000 or 5000 series. Recovery rate after pyrolysis is typically greater 93%

Aluminum bottle-caps and rings (from for example glass-bottle recyclers) that are contaminated with glass, plastic, and/ or other metals. Metal content: 35-65% Bottle Caps (Al) Clean aluminum (typically a 8011 series or 3000 series)

Aluminum Foil after production (often with paint coating and plastic or paper layer). Metal content: 50-90%. Aluminum Foil (?50/ 50?)

Tubes out of production or collection as well as tubes with potentially dangerous content (pharmaceuticals, chemicals). Metal content: 40-80% Tubes (Aluminum) High-quality aluminum. All forms of contamination are removed, including inside the tubes.

Coffee capsules consisting of aluminum, coffee, water, plastic, and often paint coatings- are easily recycled via pyrolysis. Metal content: 10% Coffee Capsules (Aluminum) Not only the aluminum capsule is recovered but also the aluminum-foil lid.

Aluminum beverage crowns (with plastic-inlay) used to close carbonated liquids during the fermentation process. Metal content: 65-85% Beverage Crowns Clean aluminum (homogeneous 8000 series) with all paint and plastic removed.

Aluminum trays (either from production or collection) consisting of Aluminium foil and food waste. Aluminum-Foil Trays The homogeneous 8000 series aluminum is easily recovered with the food waste having evaporated during the thermal process.

Non-Ferrous metal recovered from municipal waste after preliminary sorting by a waste processing facility. The fraction consists primarily of thin-walled aluminum and 5-15% other non-ferrous metals. Metal content: 30-75%. Mixed Non-Fe Metal Thin-walled, unclassified aluminum completely free of organic-contamination sold as our trademark product?pyralu?

Aluminum used to be more valuable than gold! In 1850, one kilogram of Aluminum had a price of $1.200 and one kilogram of gold was only $664. The VIP guests of Napoleon would have cutlery of aluminum. All other guests had eat with forks and knives out of only gold.

INDUSTRIA L A LUM INIUM WA STES Recycled Aluminum requires only 5% of the energy it takes to produce primary Aluminum out of Bauxite.

2 thin sheets of aluminum with a plastic middle layer (Alucobond) Metal content: 25-45%. Aluminum Sandwich Panels Homogeneous aluminum fraction (5000 series)

Thin-walled aluminum-profile scrap with rubber or silicone adhesions and often glass. Metal content: 25-65% Window Profile Scrap (Al) 6000 series aluminum with no contamination or organic. Can be fed directly into a smelter.

Aluminum casings with an inner-layer of aluminum separated by an electrolyte-layer. Condensators (without PCBs) An unclassified aluminum fraction (>97%) excellent for secondary smelters.

Aluminum profiles with PU-Foam filling. Metal content: 55-80%. Aluminum Blinds 6000 series profile scrap free of all contamination to be fed directly into a smelter.

Massive aluminum-frame around a glass-plastic-silica panel Metal content: 25-35% Solar Panels The Aluminum frame can be recovered as a homogeneous 6000 series scrap. Other precious metals can be recovered in a later process.

Aluminum shavings with oil that because of this contamination are unable to be fed directly into smelters. Oil-Contaminated Shavings Clean aluminum without contamination.

The caps/ sleeves of light-bulbs. Metal content: 30-55% Lamp Caps/ Sleeves The clean aluminum is separated from the glass and brass parts.

Heating tubes/ pipes manufactured out a plastic-aluminum composite. Metal content: 20-35% Aluminum-Composite Piping The clean aluminum has a recovery of 95%.

Aluminum with plastic layer from coaxial cables (submarine) Metal content: 30-60%. Communications cable The clean aluminum, free of all organic, has a recovery of 92-95%.

A Boeing 747 consists of over kg aluminum. The percentage of aluminum in cars is expected to rise from 8% to 16% by 2025

A LUM INUM WA STE OUT OF THE A UTOM OTIVE INDUSTRY In 2012, 1.7 Million tonnes of aluminum was used in the construction of automobiles, electronics, and other consumable goods

Aluminum-plastic composites and cables. Metal content: 25-70% Aluminum-plastic composites The plastic is thermally removed from the aluminum and the clean aluminum can then be fed into a smelter

Aluminum plates with rubber adhesions. Metal content: 30-90%. Aluminum-Rubber Composites The rubber evaporates through the pyrolysis and remaining are clean Al-Mg plates

Cast-alloy aluminum with rubber adhesions. Aluminum content: 30-70%. Vibration Dampers This homogenous AlSi alloy can be fed directly back to casting houses and smelters

Aluminum sheets with bitumen adhesions (< 500mm). Metal content: 30-60%. Insulating (Bitumen) Mats The clean plates can be pressed and returned back to the smelter

Plastic- or wood with aluminum inlays Interior Paneling (Auto) Most aluminum sheets are a 3000 series alloy. The aluminum is recovered as a clean fraction.

Aluminum pieces with rubber and steel-mesh adhesions. Metal content: 20-80% Brake-lines / Hydraulic hoses The aluminum end-pieces are thermally separated from the rest

Veneered wood or plastic containing aluminum strips. Metal content: 25-55% Veneered Aluminum

Rubber linings stabilized by an aluminum core. Metal content: 20-50% Door Seals The rubber is used as energy source to recover the aluminum-core

Warm-air ducts made out of aluminum foil and a paper (sometimes plastic) coating. Metal content: 20-35% Air-Ducts (Al) Clean aluminum foil that is pressed into briquettes for high metal-recovery

Aluminum as we know it is only 150 years old. Copper has been in use for over 9000 years. Thanks to recycling, ca. 75% of all aluminum ever produced is still in use

Waste and Scrap from Shredder Plants

Non-ferrous metal mix (mostly aluminum) from the processing of end-of-life vehicles and scrap metal. Metal content: 40-80% Non-Ferrous?Heavy? Clean and sorted fraction. free of all organic contamination

Mostly thin-walled aluminum with a high-degree of organic-contamination. Metal content: 25-55% Non-Ferrous?Light? Clean, unclassified aluminum, free of all other types of metals and organic contamination. Ideal for use in secondary smelters

Large mixed-aluminum pieces with some ferrous and non-ferrous metal content. Mixed Aluminum The aluminum is separated mechanically into 2 categories: Cast- and wrought alloys

SERVICES

Shredding

Press / Briquettes

We are able to separate and recover fine aluminum from shredding residues or exhaust systems and reintroduce them as granules for further use Processing of Fine Metals

Quality- Our Promise We are able to accept and process all types of metals, regardless of composition, size, strength, or contamination and convert these?waste products? so that they can be returned into the material cycle. Guiding the process throughout our centre is our RFID system that tracks and guides all materials from the beginning until the end. This allows us, as well as our suppliers and customers, to provide an exact overview of where the material is, at what stage, and therefore also an accurate inventory level at all times. This possible transparency is particularly valuable in being able to build up trust with our suppliers. Metal waste in its composition is inherently heterogeneous. To ensure fairness in the sale and pricing of metal waste, the risk of the heterogeneity must be eliminated. Using our new system, Pyral AG is able to give the supplier reliable, non-biased evaluations about the complete composition of the goods delivered instead of depending on information from one small sample. This complete data can than be used as the basis for a fair and transparent invoicing.
