2 1. Conventional Additives Pure Leveling Agent L88 L88 is a specially designed leveling agent made by modified acrylic ester. It makes the surface smooth and flowing. L88 can be compatible with other leveling agents very well without affecting them. Technical Specification Appearance: white powder Actives content: 65% Volatile content: 1.5% Feature and Application 1. It can adjust the coating surface tension, eliminate pinholes and fisheyes, and reduce the phenomenon of orange peel, and make the surface smooth and flowing. 2. Improve the coating gloss and the ability of adhesion. 3. This product does not contain silicone ingredients, so there is no interference and it doesn't have effect on re-coating adhesion. 4. Dosage: 0.8%-1.5% based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. 5. L88 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting powder coating. Gloss Enhancer L701A 2

3 L701A is the specially designed agent made by modified acrylic ester. It can accelerate the application of leveling agent. And make surface bright and flowing, so in China, we usually call it gloss enhancing agent. Technical data Appearance: White powder Softening point: 95~125 C Volatile: 1% Solid content: 99% Feature and application 1. The surface of coating used with L701A is bright and smooth just as coated with a layer of polishing oil. 2. It helps to immerse the polar materials such as pigment and filler totally in the object (workpiece) and has a good ability of adhesion. 3. It can prevent the shrinkage cavity and promote the gloss and flowing of coating. 4. L701A must be used together with Leveling Agent. (it can t be replaced as leveling agent) 5. Dosage: 1% based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. 6. L701A can be used for all kinds of thermosetting powder coating. Anti-yellow Benzoin L307 The general Benzoin will turn yellow when baking at high temperature, whereas Antiyellow Benzoin just overcome this shortcoming. Anti-yellow Benzoin can absorb gases to float to the surface in the process of melting coating process so as to play a role in eliminating the pinholes, at the same time, it can reduce the surface tension and has a regulation function to surface smoothness of coating. Appearance: white/yellow powder 3

4 Melting point: C Volatiles: 0.3% 1. It can replace the usage of benzoin, thus to lower production cost. 2. It can observably improve the phenomenon of yellowing in the process of baking at high temperature. 3. It has a low surface tension, so it lower the surface density of powder coating and eliminate the occurrence of gas holes and pinholes of the coating. 4. Dosage: 0.5% based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. 5. L307 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting powder coating. Degassing Agent L307A Degassing Agent L307A has good effects on degassing and anti-foaming, it can replace Benzoin to eliminate bubbles and pinholes. L307A has a good characteristic of anti yellowing. Dosage: % based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. It can be used for all kinds of thermosetting powder coating. 4

5 Hardening & Defoamer Agent L307B L307B has functions of antifoaming, degassing, leveling, dispersing, improving the surface hardness as well as the performance of wear resistance. It can be used for porous surfaces and promote the smoothness of the coating. Appearance: white powder Melting point: C Volatiles : 0.2% 1. It can improve the capability of degasification in the process of melting, and reduce the amount of benzoin accordingly. 2. It can eliminate the gas holes and pinholes of the coating which were caused by the moisture in the basic materials resulted by insufficient density of cast iron and cast aluminum. 3. It can improve the hardness and smoothness of appearance, thus the surface of coating will be of better abrasion resistance and smudge resistance. 4. It can be blended with other materials easily. 5. Dosage: 0.3%-1% based on total amount of coating formula, can be both extruded with the batch and mixed in post production. 6. L307B can be used for all kinds of thermosetting and thermoplastic powder coating. 5

6 Silver Powder Brightener L308 Silver Powder Brightener L308, also called Metal Powder Orientated Agent or Metal Powder Arranging Agent, which can make the metal powder orientation arranged in powder coatings so that the surface will be bright and glossy, and the gloss can be 200 degrees or above, so it reaches to the effect of imitation plate and mirror plate of stainless steel. If add Metal Powder Brightener L308, the amount of the metal powders can be reduced by half, thus saving the costs to a large extent. Technical data Appearance: white powder Melting point: C Volatile content: 1.5% 1. It can facilitate the metal powder to float to the surface of the powder coatings 2. Improve the gloss and smoothness of metal powder, thus help eliminate fingerprints. 3. It can be used for the production of all kinds of thermosetting powders. 4. Dosage: 0.5-1% based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. The amount is proportional to the gloss. 5. L308 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting and thermoplastic powder coating. 6

7 Silver Powder Anti-wear Agent L309 It has the properties of improving the surface hardness, anti-scratch, wear-resistance, blocking resistance, polishing resistance and smoothness, etc. It is a type of good wearresistance wax synthesized by Sasol Wax, and can effectively improve the surface hardness in powder coatings and has the functions of wear resistance, anti-scratch and eliminate fingerprints. Appearance: white powder Melting point: C Density: It can improve the smoothness and hardness of the coating surface. 2. It can improve film quality/appearance such as increase hardness, scratch resistance without affecting its gloss. 3. Easy to clean without leaving trace on the surface. 4. Dosage: 1% based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. 5. L309 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting powder coating. 7

8 2. Matting and curing Agent Pure polyester Matting Agent L201 L201 is the pure polyester additive type of physical matting agent used outdoor, which is selective for polyesters. The more amount, the lower gloss, and the lowest gloss could be 18 degrees. Dosage: 0.5-4% based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. L201 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting powder coating. Physical Matting Agent L203 8

9 L203 can be used in hybrid powder coating, and the gloss is more than 4%. It is better used indoor. 1. No yellowing, the surface of the coating is flat and smooth. 2. The amount is small, so it can lower the production costs. 3. Good storage stability, not sensitive to temperature. Dosage: 0.5-4% based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. L203 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting powder coating. Matting Curing Agent L68 L68 can be used in both pure epoxy and epoxy polyester powder coating, but can obtain stable middle-gloss in epoxy polyester powder. Technical data Appearance: white powder Melting point: Solid content: 98.5% Curing conditions: 180 C /20-25 minutes 190 C /12-15 minutes 200 C /10-12 minutes Dosage: 8%-10% based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch under C (Should not exceed 100 C or extrude repeatly) L68 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting powder coating. 9

10 Low-Temperature Curing Agent L206 Low-Temperature Curing Agent L206 can be used either as the curing agent for epoxy powder coating, or as the curing accelerator for hybrid powders. As the curing accelerator, the amount should be % of resin, and as the curing agent for epoxy, the amount is 7% of epoxy, it can produce 130 degrees for 30 minutes. Appearance: white powder Melting point: 110 C Volatile content: 0.5% 1. Melting point of L206 is low, and it can dissolve well with epoxy resin; the curing temperature is low and curing speed is fast. The curing is complete, and the quality is stable. The coating won t get yellowing. 2. Physical property of coating is good, and it has an effect of catalysis on pure epoxy curing system. And it can be added little to epoxy/polyester for the effect of catalysis. It is particularly proper for adjusting the sense of cubic effect when adding art paint powders. 3. Curing temperature: 110 C /50-60 minutes; C /25-30 minutes; C / minutes. 4. Dosage: 0.1%-5%, extruded with the batch. L206 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting and hybrid powder coating. 10

11 Acrylic acid Matting Resin X35 Currently the pure polyester outdoor light powder coating which the gloss is less than the 10% mainly adopts the acrylic acid matting resin, because the other ways of matting is hard to reach such a gloss. Acrylic acid matting resin has a biggest characteristic. The mechanical properties is improved greatly, that is, the bending anti-impact is better. Technical data Appearance: white powder or granule Softening Point: 110 C Epoxy equivalent: Volatile content (%): 1.5 Extrusion temperature: C Baking condition: 200 C 15 minutes Usage and dosage Mixed with other materials and then extruded out. The ratio of pure polyester resin (acid number about 35) and X35: 3:1 If you want to adjust the gloss, to reduce the amount of X35, adding the appropriate hardener TGIC. 12 Accelerator L216 L216 is a generic accelerator, not only promote the curing for epoxy/polyester hybrid powder,but also promote the curing for pure polyester,have a significant effect of curing.even the powder which promoted curing isn t affect the leveling,non-yellowing and improve the mechanical properties. Appearance: white powder Volatile content: 0.5% L216 used for hybrid or TGIC/polyester powder coating. 1.It has a good thermal stability and catalytic effect,not affect leveling,non-yellowing. 2.Used for all kinds of indoor or outdoor powder coating. 3.Small amount can be achieved the curing requirements. 4.It is flow of powder, more convenient to use. Usage Extruding after mix to the formulation directly, % dosage. The gel time is reducing while the dosage of L216 is increasing in hybrid powder coating and pure polyester powder coating. External Mixing Matting Agent 204A External Mixing Matting Agent 204A is the most economical type of physical matting agent, adding a small amount, low cost, effective, easy to use. Texture Agent Series Floating Agent L101 L101 can produce pattern types of art, hammer, orange peel, small and large wrinkles and so on. It can be applied in Epoxy and Polyester powder coatings. Technical data: Appearance: White or yellow powder 13

14 Melting point: 110~120 C Volatile: 0.3% 1. The product has been composed of coarse and fine powders, the coarse powder is used for the cubic effect, while the fine powder is used for eliminating shrinkage. 2. Add less amount, make larger texture pattern and add more amount if you want to make small texture pattern. Appropriate amount of 2-methylimidazole will get better cubic effect. 3. The curing temperature has little influence on texture size. Dosage: % based on total amount of coating formula, directly mixed in post production. L101 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting powder coating. Wrinkling Agent L102 L102 can adjust the system viscosity and surface tension of the powder coatings in the melting state, so that the coating surface has the wrinkle, art, texture pattern, etc. Different sizes of pattern through different amount. The production process is simple with one-time extrusion, and no need for secondary molding. It also has the good pattern stability and storage stability. Proportion: Volatiles (%): The fine wrinkle pattern can be achieved by adding very small amount of Sand Textured agent L The advantage of this agent is that the dosage is small, clear texture effect can be achieved with little amount. Dosage: % based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. 14

15 L102 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting powder coating. Do not add leveling agent and benzoin, etc in the substrate powder., the size of pattern varies inversely with the amount. Sand Textured Agent L103 L103 can play a role of physical separation, which can be used in all kinds of powder coatings. If adjust the formula to match with organobentonite can produce various types of sand texture patterns with all sizes. The fine sand texture pattern used for aluminum sections can be also achieved, the coatings with L103 has good ability of scratch resistance and hardness degree. Less amount, bigger size of pattern. Technical data Appearance: White powder Melting point: greater than or equal 320 C Volatile content(%): 1% Fineness: 5-7 um 1. Do not add leveling agent and benzoin, etc in the substrate powder 2. It can produce fine orange peel pattern if using together with wrinkling agent. 3. No need to use matting agent in glossy sand texture powder coatings. Dosage: % based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. L103 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting powder coating. 15

16 Superactive Floating Agent L104 The Superactive Floating Agent L104 can make very cubic effect even used in substrate powders that contains leveling agent, high-glossy agent and matting agent. It is also suitable for producing wrinkle and curved patterns with reclaim powder and polyester. 1. This product has fiercely contamination, please be used with great caution. Isolated production and spray, be sure to wash with water after spraying, if there are products be contaminated, please re-extrusion. 2. When producing matting or low-gloss wrinkle pattern, the use of Specific Floating Agent L104 will produce very vivid cubic effect and the filler material of the substrate powder can be increased appropriately. 3. The casting parts, thick workpieces will be easier to form wrinkle pattern if using L104. Dosage: % based on total amount of coating formula, directly mixed in post production. L104 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting powder coating. Hammer Tone Agent L105 16

17 Hammer Tone Agent L105 can be interacted with aluminum powder in the melting process so that the pigments start convoluting, and arranged in shape of plates or branches. If L105 is extruded together with resin and filler of aluminum powders, it will get a strong sense of transparency and clear texture lines. 1. The hammer tone effect depends on the resin to a large extent. The appropriate polyester is easy to produce the pattern. 2. The texture pattern will be still very clear even if the amount of the polyester filler is increased to more than 40%. 3. Adding certain amount of surface conditioner L521 or benzoin will also be good for hammer tone, the texture pattern will become larger. Dosage: % based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. L105 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting powder coating. Wrinkle Finishes L107 L107 is a kind of metal complex which has a strong effect of curing acceleration, that can make the gel time of the powder coating under curing temperature very short and the coating has no time for leveling, thus can produce the well-distributed wrinkle pattern powder with the type of ground glass. Environmental Protection Without powder flying, there is no harm to workers eyes and breathing system. Appearance: Yellowish powder Melting range( C): 192~197 Non volatile: 98.5% 17

18 Curing condition( C): 180/20~25 minutes 190/15 minutes 200/10~12 minutes 1. The quality of epoxy resin should be good and has stable performance to ensure the consistency and stability of the wrinkle finishes. 2. The wrinkle finishes will be irritant to the eyes and the respiratory system, please be careful to protection and ventilation. 3. If you want to produce large wrinkle pattern, you should spray it thick, the baking temperature should be higher than 190 degrees. 4. L107 can also be mixed in post production and the amount is 0.8-1%; mix with floating agent can change the texture style, and the amount is %, coarse particle floating agent is also workable.. Dosage: 3% based on total amount of coating formula, can be both extruded with the batch and mixed in post production. L107 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting powder coating. Organobentonit Organobentonit is a cheap product. It can greatly increase the melt viscosity of powder to prevent flowing so that make the coatings to form the effect of wrinkle and sand grain. It can used alone. It is used togeher with sand textured agent or wrinkling agent and can adjust the size of texture. Dosage: 0.3-2% 18

19 3. Surface Agent Series Antistatic Agent L501 Antistatic Agent is also called electric Charge Modifier. L501 is a type of cationic substance with polar groups, on one hand, it could be able to capture more electric charge when it is polarized in high-voltage electrostatic field, on the other hand, it can reduce the resistance value of the powder particles to a certain extent so as to remove the excess electric charge quickly, it is a product with double effects of increasing electricity and anti-statics. The powder that added L501 will be able to make the surface more smooth, and reduce the phenomenon of pinhole, big ripple and snow pattern caused by the static defects. Appearance: white powder Electricity Conduction Group: 70% Water Content: 1% 1. It can effectively improve the charge particles of powders to enhance powder coating transfer-efficiency. 2. Minimize the electrostatic phenomenon, and solve the problem of difficulty to spray corner and dead angle. 3. Reduce powder electricity resistance, and improve the ability of anti-electrostatic of the 19

20 coating. 4. Improve pigment/binder ratio while compared with the same powder coating transferefficiency, thus the cost will be reduced. 5. Dosage: % based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. L501 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting powder coating. Hardening Agent L502 Hardening Agent L502 can increase the hardness and the scratch-resistance of the coating. Appearance: white powder Melting point: C Density: It can improve the hardness of the surface without affecting gloss. 2. It can improve the ability of scratch resistance. 3. Do not need to add wax powder. 4. Dosage: 0.5% based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. L502 is a kind of modified polyethylene wax which can be used for all kinds of thermosetting powder coating. 20

21 Transfer Printing Dispersing Agent L008 L008 can obviously resolve the problem of unclear pattern of transfer printing in the process of spraying. Volatile content(%): It can solve the problem of unclear pattern during spraying and the penetration of the pigment of the coating. 2. Make the glue have better mobility before covering. After transfer printing, the paper will break away from the coating automatically, so it will be easy to uncover the paper. 3. The effect of it is better than that of transfer printing wax. It is suitable for various gloss of powder coatings. 4. Dosage: % based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. L008 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting transfer printing powder coating. 21

22 Plasticizing agent L506 Plasticizing agent L506 is also called plasticizer. It can enhance the toughness and resistance to bending of the powder coatings. Appearance: white powder Melting point: 90 C Water content: 0.05% Viscosity: s 1. Improve the flexibility of the coating, it can effectively strengthen the ability of the bending resistance of coated objects, so the coating is not easy to break. 2. Adjust and slow down the curing temperature and curing time of resin, and increase the coverage of the edge. 3. Dosage: 0.5% based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. L506 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting and thermoplastic powder coating. Packaging: Polyethylene lined, multi-ply paper bag, 15kg/bag. 22

23 Anti-yellow Agent L517 The polymer materials that composed the powder coatings will become yellow as a result of high-temperature oxidation or long-term air oxidation and affect the weatherability of the outdoor powders. L517 Anti-yellow Agent is the combination product screened out after many times of experiment, the optimum effect can be achieved with the synergistic effect of each ingredients, especially: 1. Prevent yellowing of the coatings baking in high-temperature, the effect will be better with pure polyester. 2. Prevent oxidative yellowing of the powder coating as a result of long-term exposure to the air, and improve the weatherability. 3. The effect will be better if used with ultraviolet absorbent, in this way, the indoor powder will also prolong the weatherability for 2-3 years. Melting point: C Volatile content: 1% 1. It has good resolution characteristic, and doesn t affect other function of powders. 2. Improve ability of anti-yellow of resin and partial pigment. 3. Prevent yellowing of the premature oxidation of coating in an environment of easy-tooxidate or room temperature. Furthermore, it can stop coating become yellowing under a high temperature. 4,Dosage: % based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. L517 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting and thermoplastic powder coating. 23

24 Ultraviolet Absorbent L519 It is the ultraviolet ray in the sun that caused the greatest damage to the outdoor powders, which makes the organic polymers break and pulverizing, whereas L519 has a strong capability to absorb the ultraviolet ray in the sun so as to significantly inhibit the aging phenomenon such as untimely pulverizing, loss of gloss, cracking, bubbling and discoloring and so on, and the weatherability will be prolonged obviously. The effect will be better if used with Anti-yellow agent. Applying L519 in the indoor powders will also get a significant effect, especially in white color. Melting point: C Volatile content: 1% 1. It has a good ability of absorbing ultraviolet rays, the more you paint, the better result you will get. 2, It doesn t affect the mechanical properties of coating with the right amount. 3, Restrain the phenomenon of premature oxidation, crack, bubbling, color fading, etc. 4, Dosage: % based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. L519 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting powder coating. 24

25 Transfer Printing Anti-blocking Agent L523 The major function of L523 is to resolve the problems of tearing and peeling of the transfer printing paper in thermal transfer printing powders. Dosage: 0.5% based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. L523 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting powder coating. Multifunctional Dispersing Agent L620 L620 is a multi-functional dispersing agent which plays a role of dispersing in fillers, addictives in the powders, and also links with them. Size: 5 micron Volatile content(%): It can increase the hardness, saturation degree, gloss and scratch resistance of the coatings. 2. Enable every part of the powders disperse and link together easily, make color effect more visibly(or lower the amount of pigment). It can enhance the non-pressure mobility of 25

26 the powders to achieve good anti-blocking effect. 3. It can replace titanium pigment partially. 4. Improve abrasion resistance ability of coating. 5. Dry Powder Flowing Agent L518 It makes powders swell and loose significantly, decrease the repose angles so as to prevent blocking and extend the storage period of the powders. Melting point: C Volatile content: 0.3% 1. It can increase the surface smoothness and fullness of the powders and improve scratch resistance. 3. Spray evenly with the powders and do not plug the gun easily or shoot powder groups easily, it is helpful to increase the spray area and coated a thin layer. 4. It has the advantages that the high-gloss powder shall not be foggy as compared to adding silica hydrated of fumed silicon dioxide.. Dosage: 0.5% based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. L518 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting and thermoplastic powder coating. 26

27 Superactive Antistatic Agent L528 Technical data Appearance: white to light yellow lamellar Melting point: 60 C 1, Compared with the traditional agent, the coating has better flowing and appearance. 2, It overcomes the Faraday effect, solve the problem of painting hard for dead angles, corners of objects. 3, This product is a new generation of high-performance powder charged modifier, significantly improve the powder particles with charge,. It can be used for the production of all kinds of thermosetting powders. Dosage: % based on total amount of coating formula, extruded with the batch. Silicon Dioxide L507 Fumed Silicon Dioxide is also called silica white or white carbon black, Function: improve the ratio of powdering, initial pass rate, mobility and looseness. It can prevent caking and promote the dispersing ability of pigment. L507 also solves the problem of plugging gun and powder accumulation and makes the metal powder surface more artistic. The main functions are to lubricate and segregate among powder coating particles, thus the particles does not easy to stick together and cohere.
