7 Slade 3300i Low Emission API 622 Certified Valve Packing Slade s 3300i style packing combines the strength of Inconel 600 wire that prevents extrusion of graphite, and the resilient lubricity properties of Slade patented yarns ensures the superior performance of a low emission valve stem packing. Slade 3300i Low Emissions Valve Packing was tested and passed API 622, 2nd Edition. 3300i Low Emissions Valve Packing also proven to be non-corrosive after a 35 day corrosion test as part of the API 622 (2nd edition) test. 3300i Slade Low Emission API 622 (2 nd Ed.) 8 Pyro-Tex Gasket Sheet Stainless Steel Reinforced Woven Graphite Sheet Patent Protection: US and Foreign Patents Construction of Gasket: Woven & Compressed sheet gasketing. Construction of Weaving Yarns: Individual flat 304 SS foil strips (not wire), encapsulated in graphite, form unique metal/graphite yarns suitable for weaving 80 x80 high strength sheets. The woven metal strips act as leaf springs to provide resilience during frequent thermal cycling. Temp: Up to 1000 C 1-14 Applications: Advantages: Up to 4500 PSI/310 BAR Heat Exchangers, large cross section flanges, ventilator housings, High temperature, high pressure critical services - Can be used on warped and heavily oxidized surfaces - Change gasket without pulling out the tube bundles - Adhesive bonds in place during installation - Self-forms into endless gasket - Made to virtually any thickness or width - Never hardens or dries out - Metallic reinforcement impedes extrusion - Re-adjustable, often re-usable - Individual strands reinforced with carbon fibre or 304 SS - Packaged on plastic spools - Eliminates large inventories; normally just two sizes needed - More reliable than PTFE joint sealants TYPICAL PHYSICAL PROPERTIES PROPERTY ENGLISH METRIC Density 75 lb/ft g/cm3 Leachable chlorides <10 PPM <10 PPM Sulphur* <360 PPM <360 PPM Ash content <0.74% <0.74% Compressibility (Troom) 40% 40% Recovery (Troom) 10% 10% Tensile along length 2200 psi MPa Compressive strength 35,000 psi 240 MPa Temperature range Inert media -400O F 1400O F -240O C 760O C Steam 1200OF 650OC Oxidizing media -400O F 975O F -200O C 525O C Strong oxidizers Consult Factory Consult Factory Maximum fluid pressure 4500 psi 310 bar/ 31 MPa M Factor 3 3 Y Stress 2900 psi 20 MPa *Use Pyro-Tex Gasket Sheet GLC-2 for high purity applications in nuclear power generation. The GASKET in a CLASS of ITS OWN According to the BHR Group report, Development of Gaskets Made from Expanded Graphite by M. Gawlinski and J. Blachura (given at the Sealing for Pollution Prevention and Control 18th International Conference on Fluid Sealing in Belgium), the Pyro-Tex Woven Gasket (1) maintains a superior tightness over other graphite gaskets during temperature cycling due to its adherence to the sealing surface; (2) operates with high tightness due to the low tangential resistance at compression. Thus, a larger than typical compression set, due to the presence of raised graphite surface nodules, is not a deterrent to its sealing capabilities. The nodules, as illustrated below, are designed to flow into flange surface imperfections. This nodule technology, making a high-quality gasket, puts the Pyro-Tex Gasket Sheet in a different classification when standard commercial tests are performed. The disparity in free thickness due to the surface nodules is much greater than the thickness at which a seal is achieved. The above data, collected from in-house testing, field testing, and field applications, is subject to change without notice and must be used for examination ONLY. Failure to independently test can result in property damage and/or personal injury.
