Having responsibility of coordinating multiple projects and directing outside test laboratories and contract welding facilities. Plan, conduct, track and report welding engineering investigations. Review subcontractor welding procedures, processes and documentation in order to determine that applicable welding code and design requirements are satisfied. Oversee welding procedure qualification and generate welding procedures to assist manufacturing and welding personnel. In charge of developing & managing the Welding Technical Centre equipped with the facilities to provide the training to our production engineers/customers, resources for product trials while developing the system solutions and enhancement of technical skills etc. Investigate new developments in the field of welding to evaluate their possible application to improve or remedy existing welding processes. Provide welding engineering support to Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing to fabricate equipment in accordance with all applicable code and customer requirements. Provide technical support with industry standards and specifications such as ASME, AWS, ASTM, API, BS EN, and ISO. Coordinate failure analyses and root cause analysis on welding related issues. To support in executing work as specified in project procedures and/or operational manuals to optimize day to day operational efficiency in a safe and environmentally responsible manner in accordance with Company and Client policies and standards. Provide leadership and guidance and to promote an environment that encourages a team approach to all operational activities, leading by example and role modeling the RishiGroup values. Maintain a work environment based on continuous improvement philosophies while actively promoting all company Business Improvement, Quality Assurance and Quality Control requirements. Ensure effective manpower planning and assignment of work to fitters and welders employees to maximize productivity and efficiency Interpret all WPS, PQR and WPQ per ASME, ASTM, AWS and NDE specifications. Choose the appropriate Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and assign welders as per welder qualification records Maintain and update welder qualification records, Weld Map, stress relieve charts and Inspection and Test Plan (ITP). 2 Ensure timely submission of required reports Effectively organize, lead and maintain discipline, within the work location. Actively participate in weekly review of jobs and other related meetings. Assist in the review the performance of the Team for continual improvement of processes/procedures to meet and exceed key performance indicators and targets set.
